PR v1.0 automatically shut down to desktop

As the title says my pr 1.0 automatically shuts down it self. most of the time it is when im in game for like 4-5 min but sometimes even when I load a map.
Please someone help me,

hi.. try playing in windowed mode and report any errors.

One thing to try is turning down your settings a notch (if you have an older spec'd machine)

Cannot even get into the menu with fullscreen unchecked...

Turned everything down to low, AA off, Shadows off, V-SYNC off, game loaded, CTD after 2 minutes in fullscreen. Game was running fine with most options on high w AA; my PC specs wouldn't be the issue. Drivers maybe but they are all upto date... Direct X up to date too.

Lowered resolution - Was just playing for 20 minutes without issue.

Played one map without issue, dropped 10 minutes into the second.

Tried what you said, still have the problem.
Also tried other basic things like run as administrator still it shut's the game down REALLY random. ones it is when loading map, then after 2 minutes in game, 35 minutes in game, when going from ingame back to server list in menu.
Hope you guys can find the probleme fast because I like the mod but cant play it like this

My resolution was 1920x1080

My PR CTDed only once...

Next time try to remember what faction and map were you playing, and what happened around you just before the crash.

For me it doesnt discriminate what weapon I am using, vehicle i am driving, or faction i'm playing as every single pr server/single player map i've tried crashes somewhere or another usually about half an hour through the round.

If you are experiencing what seems to be completely random and frequent CTDs, AND you have BF2 and PR installed on a HDD (not a SSD) do yourself and the PR team a favor and defrag that hard drive.

You can use the built in Windows defrag utility just fine.

If you want to get fancy and have a bit of technical knowhow, try something like this:

5. Check your Page File, if set to a sliding value, I suggest
deleting pagefile.
rebooting.
resetting pagefile manually to a single minimum/maximum.

manually setting it to a single minimum/maximum, and getting a defrag progam that will move the pagefile to the beginning of your hard drive. A free option:FAQ Special files - How do I defragment "C:\pagefile.sys" (the swapfile)?

You can also buy commercial defrag programs that can move locked Windows system files such as your pagefile. Again, not needed, just do a basic defrag first.

The reasoning behind this is the various client.zip and server.zip files in PR1.0 are HUGE and have a very high number of files inside the compressed .zip file, if they are highly fragmented on your drive it could cause problems, especially when trying to first join a server.

Today I removed pr and bf2 from my computer re installed everything from bf2 till pr v1.0.30 but I still have the random game shut down.

I defragged my hard drive, said 0% was fragmented. I am still getting this problem. My friend who is playing right next to me is not having this problem at all. His system specs are lower than mine. I tried in windowed mode and same thing. I changed resolution and depending on which one i chose, i crashed at different times. I previously played older versions of the mod without any problems.


EDIT-I found a file when i opened file location on shortcut. it reads as follows:

No errors have ever popped up after crash. I found this while comparing files against friends to make sure I was not missing any files.




EDIT- Co-op is not giving me this problem. It seems to be only for online.

I had similar Problems in an earlier version. I successfully lowered the Texture Quality as a workaround. Everything runs fine on MAX since I've got Win 7 64bit.

But despite it happening nearly 20 times yesterday, it has only 1-2 times today and non since las patch, just Pr for a couple of hours and it seems to get better.

Mine has been happening nonstop. I join server, play for about 5 minutes if that, and then crash. Has not stopped happening since i downloaded it.

I have this same problem, Not sure what it is.

I have unistalled and deleted everything Bf2 and PR relating and re-installed it all, I have run in windows Mode, I have run every type of scan through my PC, I have lowered all my settings, I have made it a "High Priority" in task manager And NONE of these have done anything to help.

My PC it totally capable of running PR V1.0 but yet it has not stopped Crashing for the last 3 days I've had it. I realllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy wannna play!!!!!!!

It seems like I fixed the problem for myself, because I played for 2,5 hours different servers, game modes, coop, deployment and different facts. The thing I did was disconnecting my second computer screen. and now it seems to be okay. Hope it will stay like this and help other players
