Burning Sands AAS CTD on load

Post by theonelegion »

Hey!

Burning sands AAS keeps crashing when i reach about 30%. I don't get an error message and it just boots me back to desktop. I've replaced the Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\burning_sands
folder from a friend, but it did not help and restarting my PC didn't help either. :( Any help would be cool.

Your crashing only on burning sands? Could you try loading the map in windowed mode? To get an error message? To do this go to your launcher, options and untick fullscreen

I did what you asked and tried to load it in windowed mode, but nothing different happened than in full screen. It just says unloading battlefield 2 resources after it crashes and nothing else. :(

IN PRlauncher, lower your graphics and audio settings to all low, windowed mode.
Start PR, try to load burning sands.

This is a test, not a solution.

Every other map works so far?

To try to pin down the problem you can try to play singleplayer on BurningSands,
if it works, then we know it's a multiplayer file.
if it doesn't work, we know it's a base level file.

At this point, if you can get someone to upload the burning sands level, it would be best to just redownload the corrupt files.

BTW, how did you download the installation .ISO , and how did you mount or unzip the .ISO ?

I've had a friend upload the burning sands level and I replaced the original file with it, but that had no effect and it still crashes.
I pre-loaded my iso with Bittorrent and mounted the iso with deamon tools.

Well, I am not the smartest compared to the epic Support Dev's...
But Reinstalling 1.0 would be the best. (Re-downloading basiclly)

Why must I give such great advice!

Re installing fixed it and in hindsight I should have done that right away.
Thanks for the help everyone! :)
