Super lag and frequent crashing

Since the 1.0.35 update there has been super ridiculous lag (less than 15fps) so low the the in-game bf2 fps reader bottoms out (renderer.drawfps 1). To make things worse every 10-20 minutes I CTD. As the patches roll on things get progressively worse. When 1.0 first came out I did 20ish then it continued to drop 18 16 15.5. My settings are bottomed out and there is nothing left to change down. I've tried to hang and see if things got better. But playing with an unfair amount of lag (it's like a cartoon) I'm going to have to leave PR soon something I don't want to do as a long time player.

P.S. If the only advise you have is "upgrade your computer" or "buy a new computer" please don't suggest that. It's not helpful or practical. For an XP its basically as good as it can get.
