Microsoft Visual C++ 2008

Post by Ason »

Hello, When I installed pr1.0 it also installed something called microsoft visual C++ 2012 (?)
The problem is today I wanted to install Civilization V and at the end of the installation it asked me if i wanted to repair or uninstall Visual C++ 2008, does someone know if I can uninstall it since I already got the newer version with PR or should I press repair? I don't want this C++ to screw up my PR so I have to reinstall everything.

Click the Repair button. Let it repair. You might need to reboot. but it will work fine after that.

Until AncientMan stops updating parts of PRLauncher that use C__, you might need to repair Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 each time there is an update to PRLauncher. AncientMan is working to fix this bug, please be patient. Please finish your map too :P

Wait, if I tell you that Civ5 is broken, would you instead spend more time making your awesome Grozny map?
Civ5 is broken.

There's no bug?

Visual C++ comes in a few variants, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012. All of these are different, so if you have 2012 but something requires 2008, you will need to install 2008. PRLauncher uses 2012, most other things use 2008 or 2010... You certainly don't want to uninstall it, probably break a lot more stuff than just Civ5 as a LOT of things use 2008 :) .
