Hello,
I tried PR1.0 today and I have to say this is some outstanding game. The weapon immersion is fantastic. I have some feedback:
1) Training / Familiarization:
It would be great to have a simple training map with targets, where you can select and test any weapon and any vehicle/aircraft available in the game, without restrictions and waiting time.
The familiarization has been so far a terrible experience in PR. You are constantly restricted and need to wait to re-pick kit. Need to quit and reload a session just to get access to other kits, which costs minutes and minutes.
Some kits can be tested only online with enough players, which gets you kicked out of the game, because you're busy testing stuff instead to play the game.
A restriction-less training map would be a perfect solution.
2) Weapon Posturing:
This is more nitpicking I guess, but I got to say this. The ready/aimed weapon posturing are great, looks very authentic, but the reloading/selecting posturing looks like held roughly 20cm in front of your face, which is kind of immersion "diminishing".
The weapon needs to be moved further away from the view when reloaded and selected.
When you reload the gun, the view makes those sudden twitches, I guess I'm the only one commenting on this, but this is kind of disorientating. I see why it's there, but it goes over board I think. A more steadier view would be good. Only when tilting and checking the right side of the gun, the view may move slightly to the right, as like you'd lean the head slightly to see the right side of the gun.
3) Walk Key:
A dedicated walk key would be great. The movement would be faster than the aimed walk, but more silent than the run/sprint.
4) Infantry Free Look:
This, in my opinion, really needs to be in the game. When mounting a machine gun on a vehicle, you really need to be able to look around, but also when covering an area with your gun, taking a real quick look to the side without to move the muzzle is really needed.
What I'm talking about is free look that would be restricted to the bottom, so you won't see the floating arms, but restricted 90 degrees to the top and like 120 degrees to the sides. I guess the problem may be the fact that you wouldn't see the characters head turning around, maybe a cheap trick could do it.
5) Vehicle Breaks:
To hit the breaks at full speed and turn the wheel could make you turn faster. I don't think I saw a breaks key, may work by just using the backward movement, but the mechanics for blocked wheels and a fast whirl around aren't given, I believe.
6) Deadzone / Freeaim:
Alright, now I'm pushing it. A bit deadzone would be good in the game. If you fire semi automatic or a short burst, the deadzone would be like a buffer, so your entire view wouldn't shake and move, but only the gun. Would give you a more steadier and smoother shooting experience without removing the necessary recoil mechanics.
Sorry for the harsh feedback, but these are the things I had to write down before it fades off my memory.
