Surviving Insurgency As A Insurgent

Post by SIDEKILL3R »

Insurgency is one of the best game modes i played yet its teamwork base and requires a good tactical game plan to win. That sentence speaks for the people on Bluefor as far for the Insurgents, Taliban and Militia (last two which i prefer to play as the most) its like surviving hell pure HELL  seem like the "teamwork base game play" go out the door not saying all the time but most of time when i play (maybe it just me) it's like everyone want to just hang all around the cache the whole team. Nobody spreads out(surrounding the known) nobody sets up ambushes anymore it just hold the cache which is FACT the objective but also it is our objective to kill as many Bluefor as possible while holding and projecting the cache. i cant count enough time i seen one by one by one caches be wiped out due to the fact that whole team stay right on the known and that one APC come around and just wipe all of us out and THERE GOES CACHE. With 1.0 brought 50 players PER TEAM!! It seem all those 50 players stay right on the known and hey we sometimes put up a good fight holding the INFIDELS off then another known come up and the team says hey lets forget about this known and spawn at the new one! WE ARE INSURGENTS WE FIGHT TO THE DEATH TILL THE CACHE IS DOWN lol. I Just want to state we can make the game mode much more enjoyable if our Squad leaders communicate all the time we spread out surrounding the known (its 50 of us not all 50 of us need to be on the known) set up ambush squads and IED the INFIDELS to HELL lol. 50 Players i can't stress enough that the player count have been increased to 50 so that mean if we have 2 known we should be able to split up 25 players per cache and set up ambushes near by. who don't like surprising the INFIDELS blowing up a Car or APC packed with troops it is a amazing feeling not only is it awesome we are taking away tons of tickets. This is just my opinion

Surviving insurgency in my opinion is a matter of people changing their mindsets a bit.

People are massively attached to whatever kit they happen to have, rather than taking on the insurgent mindset. Don't be afraid of dropping your kit. It only takes 1 minute for you to become a civilian and regardless of that if the enemy didn't see you drop your kit they have no idea if killing you will mean civvy kills for them.

The insurgents should never ever get locked down in an area. APC stopping you from moving somewhere? Why aren't you switching to civilian and travelling past it openly and freely? Pick up a new kit from a body, the place is littered with them. Get shot anyway? Oh well, you were pinned down and likely to die anyway, or would have died moving that way. Not only this, but civilians in the open become a massive distraction, people look at the civvies instead of where the enemies are often.

If there's one thing more people need to learn though, it's the beauty of simply dropping your kit to travel across those areas covered by enemy guns. It works exceptionally well and there's always other kits to collect.

I totally agree the civilian role plays a big part in the gameplay but little do people know its most important role as far as getting past troops but intel

Yeah id like to see more coordination in the insurgent team, and i agree with you about everyone staying on the known not around it that really pisses me off and it almost always fails.

I think the insurgents need layers of defense not just a last stand at the cache. It should be, IEDs, SPGs, snipers and artillery as the first line of defense then MMGs,RPGs, Technicals and ambushes for the second layer and for the final layer it should be everything you have left. of course there should be a fair amount of civilians scattered throughout the defense as well.

Unlimited reinforcements seems to be an incentive to not work as a team which is unfortunate because people seem to forget that there isnt unlimited caches. Though if your up to it dont be afraid to create teamwork squads in the insurgent team, Id be willing to join.

Tl;dr
I generally find surviving as insurgent pretty hard in 1.0. Bluefor has it too easy now. Playing as an insurgent is an act of masochism, imho.

What's 'long' about the OP? Honestly, that's ONE paragraph.

Absolutely. In addition to your comments, I'll add that too many people approach playing as an insurgent with the idea in mind that they are not a unified, organized force, and so must be played that way. Play INS the same way you would play BLU and you'll see greater success. Squad up, coordinate your efforts, communicate with each other. BLU got creamed yesterday on HOG/Al Basrah, not because we were disorganized, but because INS was more organized.

Well, honestly how to survive insurgent... well simple.

Defend the Cache.

Playing As an insurgent is pretty rough, especially facing toe to toe against a monster APC or even CAS.

I don't think the video's tell me much....
Just AMBUSH?

When I lead squad's I usually set up a ambush here and there, especially on infamous Lashkar Valley!!! :)

The Germans hate that map lul. But honestly.... Teamplay is very importent for surviving. make sure you don't waste those bomb cars and such and you'll be good! :)

The key to being an effective insurgent, IMO, is patience.... Good ol' fashioned patience :)
I've noticed some people can't grasp this concept though.

And now, we wait.....

Indeed it is! It's one unorganized paragraph that hits you in the face instead of offering you a read.

Isn't PR all about patience? Well especially setting up ambushes.
