Khamisiyah, the new "Kashan?"

Post by matty1053 »

Hello PR Players.

I am asking for your guys' opinions...
Do you think that Khamisiyah will be the "New Kashan"?

NO, I am not comparing either of them, I know that Khamisiyah is just better and different. But do you guys think it's going to be constantly overplayed and about 6 months later it will be Boring?

My opinion... Not really, I think that it's a very good map for anyone. Great training map too for every asset! :)

I think that the Devs could make a Insurgent Layer? :P

So... how is one map which is obviously a lot different and "better" than the other supposed to replace it?

Not a fan of the new map. The times I've played it as Infantry, it was a horrible experience moving up and the US Flag is very open to attack and constant CAS runs.

I do however like the Skirmish version of the map, it's like the perfect map to showcase improvements to infantry combat in a 12v12 20v20 setting.

Your a TG dude right?
I love playing Skirmish on your guy's server on this map.

And I think that being MEC is most effective on this map.... :\

Indeed; it's a shame that village isn't placed more toward the center of the map.

that earns you a cookie.

And that would be more ideal. At least they could add another small village or two.

Usually the main infantry firefights are the oilfields, refinery, or the Bunker Area(S).
I squad lead usually on that map... Usually i am driving APC's though. So it's not a big deal, we just support our lovely and painful troops.

It's a good map for dogfighting :)

I have yet to play it, but it certainly seems more infantry-friendly than Kashan does.

Indeed, while Kashan can be kinda cool with the new m240 in the mountains doing over watch, its still "meh" on fun as infantry for me. Khamisiyah is much more inf friendly so you can bound a to each CP quite a bit easier, actually, I think it has the best balance inf wise and asset wise to where both co-exist quite well.

New Kashan? No.

One of the best combined arms maps? Yes.

Ideally, I would like to see the Inf layer and Alt layer played more. The Alt layer is intriguing because the US gets 2 jets and 2 tanks while the MEC gets 5 tanks.

Project Reality: BF2 Map Gallery

Not hating the Standard or Large layers. It's just that whichever side has the better jet pilots and a decent commander spotting with the UAV, it quickly turns one sided and isn't terribly fun as a ground pounder or armor player.

Mmm... the MEC get three AA vehicles. I'm not sure how it plays out since I haven't played it.

Also, looking at at it, the lack of trans choppers for the MEC seems like a bummer.

Really need to make use of AA in Khamisiyah, any layer but especially the Alt, where you have 3 of them. You can cover a lot of ground with those.

They're a bit boring, perhaps, but they're really important (and hey, when you finally do nail one of them it always feels extra good).

I actually enjoyed playing half the match in a 12v12-18v18 on the H server, it's a great map for Infantry.
The Assets being introduced eventually was a bit of a letdown, not so much the jets but the entire enemy team suddenly going armor.
If you want something done, do it yourself
Expect your teammates to be incompetent
Don't give up. Seriously guys, you know how much that (X Enemy Has claimed victory over the battle 1-0) hurts?

I loathe Kashan. The bunkers turned combined arms in separate arms. But then again, other players might think its a good thing, to have one section of the map where infantery fight among themselves and another where armor slugs it out.

Depends on what your definition of better is. As long as a team holds on to bunkers that team can still have a game with its armor and airforce gone. From a game design point of view I can see how that might be desirable.

Personally I prefer combined arms map, even if that means that as infantery at times you might not have that much fun if your team does not do so well.

For me it is the best map created for PR so far. Kashan never was in my opinion.

Yeah I'd love to get more often into the village.. it is beautufil. such a pity you almost never can go there really

This isn't feedback. I am asking for people opinions on if this map could be the new "kashan".
(Overplayed often, same tactics, ect)

What I find, I always have to play Skirmish, or the STD or Lrg layouts.

It's painful for the MEC. Their tanks suck vs. 1 M1 Abrams
