How to stop automatic update?

Post by Ason »

Hello, Is it possible to stop the launcher from upating automatically? I have tried to start PR with no internet but it seems like it has saved the update files somewhere and it is always trying to update to 1.0.36 but it always crashes so maybe there is some way to delete the last patch files or something so I can play coop?

IN PRLauncher,
go to options->global->Look at the Update Download Location, that is where the downloads are stored IF you have the tickbox for Keep Update Files ticked.

by default on 64bit
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\Downloads

The problem is I can't even get into the Launcher, when I press the PR icon on desktop it starts by wanting to update the game, the launcher with options and profiles and stuff never show, so it's trying to update but since it always crashes ( see this post: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... error.html )
it never gets to the launcher menu.

do you have 32 bit or 64 bit windows?

in windows explorer, go there:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\Downloads
you should see the files, delete prbf2_1.0.35.0_to_1.0.36.0_client_patch and you might be able to get it to work ...

You must enable the viewing of hidden files in windows 7:
here is a tutorial:

How to show hidden files in Windows 7

after you finish tutorial, c:\users\[username]\appdata folder will show up in windows explorer

I will also upload the file objects_vehicles_server.zip that has been updated to 1.0.36
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ohy22r9lggqe6 ... server.zip

put objects_vehicles_server in mods\pr\content directory.

Reinstall PR, your installation is corrupt.

I believe it's working atm after replacing objects_vehicle_server.zip, If the same thing happens on next patch I guess I will have to reinstall it?
