Iraqi INS vs other INS factions

Post by 007.SirBond »

Is it just me or does it seem like the Iraqi's are the worst insurgency faction in this game?

They cannot request kits off the caches, and I think the weapons that spawn on those caches are the same limited number of kits used from 0.98

2 RPGs, 1 RPK, 1 PKM

If I am wrong, someone correct me please.

I think this is too few of limited kits for insurgents. With 50 player teams, the INS faction has to deal with twice as many Blufor soldiers compared to 0.98, and having only this many available special kits makes Iraqi's the worst faction compared to Taliban, Milita, Hamas or ARF.

I've noticed that in most insurgency maps that feature the Iraqi's, INS ends up losing.

Is there any reason why the dev's have designed it so Iraqi's cannot request kits off the cache? I think this one restriction is making Blufor win on maps where the INS are Iraqi's. When I see Insurgency on Kokan, Black Gold, Ramiel, Gaza or other maps with factions that are able to request kits off the cache, the other factions have a decent chance against Blufor.

I think Iraqi's need some balancing compared to the other insurgent factions.

Its not so much the lack of ability to request kits as it is what kits they can get. Its been posted many times before the the iraqi ins have been pretty gimped in terms of weapons while bluefor have gotten several new toys. Int really just asset balance.

On falluja west for example, the bluefor get like 4 apc's. Well thats all fine and dandy, except the ins team gets just 1 gary. See what i mean? Iraqis just need to be ungimped and everything will be sorted out.

My only problem with Iraqi INS is:

Pickup only kits (non-cache)

i.e Marksman, Sniper, AA, Combat Engineer

BLUFOR for get the assets - good realism

INS get shafted - don't even get 3 marksman rifles (I know sharing is caring but let's be fair!)

As I understand it, the Iraqi Insurgents are in a tier of their own below every other faction in the game. The Taliban, Hamas, and the Militia are 'Unconventional' Factions. Realistically, the only thing keeping the Militia from 'Conventional' status is heavy asset support and standard issue scopes, maybe. I would guess the reason this disparity exists is to emphasize that the Iraqis are really just rag-tag resistance fighters amongst a civilian population (actual insurgents), while the Taliban and Hamas are funded, organized, combatants. Note that no other factions have legitimate Collaborators (inb4 Eddie bomb).
