I've recently had the chance to play Asad Kahl again. the map usually doesnt get voted for much and after playing it again i remember why.
even since it's inception into PR asad kahl was a map that heavily favored one side in terms of routes of travel, which doesn't seem like much but makes a huge difference. Troop movement is the game of victory.
Under most layouts i believe the first capture points or two for the IDF is south of the river and the others would be logically placed north of it with maybe one on the island itself. however the problem arises when we see that there is a route that runs directly from the Hamas main down to a main bridge onto the island and then directly into the IDF's usual first capture points. on the other hand the IDF usually need to weave their vehicles around a few fields before reaching those flags which gives the Hamas just an extra minute or so to cut them off. This road also gives them early access to the town where cover is plentiful but is sorely lacking on the south side of the river
under most conditions the Hamas team can immediately rush the IDF's first flags with technicals, and also immediately deliver troops to the rope bridge connecting the island and the southern piece of land. This usually gives them a solid hold on the high ground which watches over all of the IDF's early positions making it difficult for them to secure even the first of the flags. on the other hand in order for IDF troops to reach the top of the high hill at the southern end of the rope bridge they need to travel past the hill and weave into buildings before traversing a narrow staircase thats completely exposed to fire to the top. the second and most popular method is to get under the south side of the hill and climb it with rope, but that rarely goes well without multiple squads providing a heavy volume of fire to keep the Hamas at the top of the hill suppressed as there is only one place where it can be done.
solutions:
- block off or re route the road that runs from the hamas main south west across the river onto the center island. Option 2 is to simply remove the eastern bridge on the north side of the river
- update terrain to allow easier access to the high hill on the south end of the rope bridge from the south or south west. (there is no need to add a pathway but rather simply adding rocks or other statics so that it can be traversed with the grappling hook would do)
- add more physical cover around the crop fields to the south of the map up to the center hill.
Assuming all the above are not considered, the easiest method would be to ensure no layer places the Hamas main base in the in the north eastern quadrant of the map and instead has it placed always in the north west. this should prevent the early rush across the river that the hamas team always takes when they have a direct access to the eastern bridges.

Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.
