Insurgency Layer for Beruit?

In my opinion the top left north west island would be a perfect location for IDF blufor main, the two bridges hold very high strategic value, and allow INS to set up ambushes there. It would force Blufor to build a fob on the other side of those bridges, of course IDF still get black hawks or hueys as a form of air transport. But I think this layer would be a very great addition to PR.
I like the Idea of Beirut Insurgency and in fact have played it before in an event for PR 0.98, it had flaws but they could be fixed.

Im not sure if this is correct but from what I am seeing in the PR 1.0 Init files they no longer have the voices text line.

gameLogic.setTeamLanguage 2 "English"
Now even if they did need the above lines most maps are using multiple Init files to run different factions (and/or Skys Eg. Black Gold).
So you can use Hamas vs IDF for an INS layer on Beirut without having to clone the map.

I personally think there aren't nearly enough cache locations to make it viable. There are very few accessible buildings on the map and majority of those are on the outskirts (H shapes) or are T shapes, making the map not very interesting for insurgency gameplay.
With the trenemdous amount of vehicles the Russians get making transport easy, it'll be a bit of a stomp when a building facing the desert has a BMP and Havok smashing it and choppers constantly dropping infantry. Not to mention only 30% or so of the map is in-play area
I would like to see if Deer is going to make any updates for the next version though

I think this a good idea. Beirut seems like it has a lot of potential.
Make it a night map or bad weather to close the open spaces.

These lines are not in the init.con anymore, but they are called
from the init.con file.
It seems that voices can only be set through init.con, probably because it's loaded earlier than the other init variants and at that point can't set the voices anymore or something.

Can you copy Beirut as Beirut2 and place insurgents with their voices on it? mm?

We can, but we won't. For such a tiny change, it's just not worth the extra MB's. Would rather just have Insurgents or Militia speaking Russian.

Yep. Maybe add Muttrah city insurgency (mec vs. insurgents) or variation of Burning Sands INS? It's currently GB - INS night map but alternative could be MEC - INS day map.

With respect - the bridges here are awfully long, isn't the smallest bridge at least 6 destroyable pieces wide?
Mortars or an SPG techie focusing on bridge destruction would turn Beirut into a lockout every single time if Blufor main was placed on the island. Repairing 2 broken pieces of a bridge is a rare enough event to see, let alone longer bridges that are fully destroyed.

I could see a Beruit INS .... Its has enough hiding spots and defensive zones... The Searchers should be based at the Cargo yard because shipping back and forth from the aircraft carrier could kill the whole idea.

They were talking about using the Island as a Main. I think it should be both like Sareema The boat and the land base.
Muttrah Insurgency sounds fun but can you change the time of day? High Noon on Muttrah bored the fuck out of me sometimes.

The bigD server did a insurgency muttrah event a couple of months ago but with the usmc vs insurgents. It was fun until someone decided to ghost like crazy ending the round really quickly. If it was stormy like in black gold insurgency it would be even better.

Yeah you could have Israeli rebels fighting the Russians, That would actually happen if Israel was invaded by a big power. Just replace the militia guns with M4s, Uzis, Galils and other second tier Israeli weapons, maybe chuck an IDF helmet on a guy here and there and Boom you have Israeli rebels/militia.

If it's not possible then I think that standard militia arsenal would be fine too, AK is the most popular gun on the planet after all.

Syria is a good opportunity for this idea. To bad the MEC team has G3 Rifles and not AK's like the Syrian Army.
I'm working rightnow on a syria map (30% done) and i guess it will be MEC vs. Ins. Appearantly there are a few guys working on a real Syrian Army Faction.
