Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
Hi im new to the forums and PR also however its a great game and loving it so far however im having some issues with stuttering during gameplay. On certain maps like vadso city its worse than others my fps are always high but the stuttering usually starts when playing coop right after the message is displayed about it using standard layout in coop config or something like that. Ive searched the forums already and tried all the different methods like razor, cleaning the cache and setting the process to high priority. My Rig is:
i7 3770 3.4ghz
16 GB Ram
1 GB GTX 560ti
if anyone could help me out id be very grateful Thanks

Re: Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
Probably some (background-)program using the HDD too much all the time...

Re: Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
I checked all the processes and nothing is happening in the background it only seems to happen in coop everything is fine at the start of the game then once the message appears saying using standard layout for coop config or sonething along those lines thats when it starts stuttering every 30 seconds or so

You could rule out the HDD by disabling Windows Virtual Memory. Worth a try at least...

Any ping fluctuation?

Re: Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
VMEM stands for VMware virtual machine 's paging file - but I guess you meant the Windows paging file ( Virtual memory )
Since I disabled it, and did a severe defrag with MyDefrag ( Monthly - Weekly - Daily, all in safe mode ) of system and data partitions, and then re-eanbled it, Im seeing improvement. Less or no stuttering in any games not just PR.
So, if you have 4+ GB of system RAM try to disable page file ( set it to 0 but make note what the value was in case you need to re-enable it ), reboot, and then delete pagefile.sys - its hidden so youll have to set "Show hidden system files" on in CP > Folder options.
See if that helps.

Sure, if you're new around here, I could see how you could confuse it for a file extension. But I already explained what it was in my initial post.MaSSive wrote:VMEM stands for VMware virtual machine 's paging file - but I guess you meant the Windows paging file ( Virtual memory )
Do I really need to write it out in full each time to avoid upsetting the easily confused?

Ok I didn't saw your previous post. Point taken. Carry on, without pesky tones.
Thus not everyone - read not even 5% of users posting here had no idea what you were referring to - so try to be more clear in each post. Or dont.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
1. Defrag the drive that has BF2 and PR installed.
PR has some very large compressed files, if they get fragmented it can cause this problem.
2. To go even further, make sure your pagefile is not fragmented.
Use a third party defrag program to do this.
3. With 16GB of RAM you could even install the entirety of BF2 and PR mod onto a RAMDISK, then mount and unmount the Ramdisk when you want to play PR.

FAQs and How-Tos - ImDisk - reboot.pro
4. And/OR you can create a Ramdisk and just place the most used BF2 and PR files onto it,

Junction Link Magic
5. Use DriverFusion by Treexy to completely uninstall your GPU drivers, then download new drives from Nvidia.
Driver Fusion - The Complete Device And Driver Solution
6. Use ProcessLasso Free Process Lasso - Automate and optimize process priorities, CPU affinities, power profiles, and more! to give the PRBF2.exe file a high priority and put it into gaming mode.

Re: Windows 7 64 bit stuttering issue
You mention it stuttering every 30 seconds or so - how long does this last for? See if you can time it to occur every 30 seconds, as if this is the case, then that would suggest a particular process at fault somewhere.

Also while in game try opening your console with tiles key '~' and type this
which will make less frequent scans from PB server - 500ms.
Code: Select all

Did you check your GPU temperatures? Might be overheating after 10 min...
