Installing PRBF2 on a Secondary Drive

Post by YourHeadGoesBoom »

Hey all,
I recently bought a SSD as my secondary drive for games, and I installed both BF2 and the PR mod for BF2 on that drive, but my PR won't load after I have been logged in and have my files verified. Any help? I asked a few people who play PRBF2 and they all just installed it on their OS drive and I was wondering if you could install it on a secondary drive?
Thanks,

Sure, you can install it wherever you want.

Try unticking the "Fullscreen" option in PR Launcher > Options > Video, run the game, and see if it produces an error.

But still, for me at least (also BF2 & PR on SSD), the game won't load any faster (not noticable).

I guess it is due to the graphics shaders all being in a folder "cache" on the slow "C" harddrive, where windows is installed... -.- Right??

Daniel, you can move those folders,

2B. Read through these guides:
Windows 8 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs ─ Sean's Windows 8 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs
Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs - Sean's Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs
Windows 8, 7 , Vista, and XP Tweakguides from Tweakguides.com TweakGuides.com - The TweakGuides Tweaking Companion

The first two links have direction son moving USERFOLDERS , i.e. My Music, My Photos, My Documents, etc, to a secondary drive.

Word of caution, once you do that, you have to keep that second drive attached for Windows to work properly.

And THERE is the problem... -.-

I bought this one mS200 SSD with 60 GB space (was a great offer, great price, just 50 Euro!!). Now it is already full with games I bought/thought it would make sense to increase loading times...

So it is full already.

-DCS (13 GB)
-BF2 etc. (14 GB)
-Stronghold Collection & Max Payne 2, (9 GB)
-NFS:MW (6 GB)
-Planetside 2 (12 GB)
