Battlefield has stopped working.

Post by Collix »

Hey guys,

Since last week I've been having trouble playing not only PR but battlefield 2 aswel. Whenever I press deploy on a server it freezes for a couple of seconds and then the message pops up "PR.exe" has stopped working.

Now not only does PR crash, battlefield two crashes aswel and I don't know why. I have reinstalled the game but that didn't fix it.

Can anybody please help me?

Kind regards, Collixo.

Fixed it thanks to this man, I owe him bigtime.

To try to narrow this down, please play PR in windowed mode until you get a crash,
in windowed mode, when it crashes, it will make a pop up window with the error code.
either take a screen shot or write down the error code.message, and post it in this thread.

Obviously you have a nice setup and it's probably not hardware related.

Are you running any overlay programs, like TS3 overlay, RAPTR, Overwolf, Afterburner, etc? If so, try completely turning them off.

Running any type of specialized keyboard, like a Logitech G series?
I had the overwolf overlay running.

Overwolf can be made to work with PR.

It works if you are running Win7 or Win8, but has to have the same administrator rights level as PRBF2.exe
Also, if you can get the TS3 ovrelay to work in PR, start overwolf through the integrated button inside TS3. That should always get overwolf to run correctly with PR.

In winXP, I believe it can work if you start Overwolf AFTER you have joined an online PR server.
