PR Video Idea - Chatter
(This was posted in the info form and im not so sure if thats where its should go, so I made a new thred, but I don't know how to delete my other post! Admins Help!!)
OK sorry for that onto my idea
What I think can make this video a lot more appealing. Voip chatter. Like cut to a chase view of the cockpit of a plane and then you hear like "Bravo Six this is Fox One, Bogie on my six requesting support" and then you hear "This is Fox Wilco Six " and then the pilot proceeds to fall back and totally destroy the other plane. And you then hear "This is Fox One, Tango down". This is just an example of how the VOIP could be used and more importantly recorded; it even could be put in after the pilots have flown using more "professional" voice actors. Just PR is about reality, and a real military talks to each other... a lot. Like I said this is just an example, it could be done in helicopters, tanks, APCs, cars, and on foot too! Just there is a felling of professionalism implied with Voip chatter and real solders/pilots/drivers are professionals.

I think the "Bravo Six this is Fox One, Bogie on my six requesting support" is a tad misleading since I have NEVER heard anyone talk like that in PR. I think painting a false image of PR is a bad idea and could cause some upset with player's that download it expecting such articulate comms.
A sidenote. Bad idea to give a fighter the callsign fox one since thats the callsign for an AIM-9 launch, and it would be "Splash" when you take down an emeny target. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't "Tango" the callsign for terrorist's?
If you want to hear stuff like that, try Lockon....it's actually like that. When your on VOIP with the American's it's like your in a film, but I digress. Don't make stuff up to make PR look better!
Honestly I would speak like that if PR required it, but it doesn't.

IIRC neither is the map, or for that matter, have you ever seen people flying in formation?Downtown_two wrote:I think the "Bravo Six this is Fox One, Bogie on my six requesting support" is a tad misleading since I have NEVER heard anyone talk like that in PR. The point in my creation of this video is not to demonstrate "actual gameplay" but instead, the principle thereof. Obviously in the game there will not be 4 blackhawks and 4 LBs on Al Basra, as well as F18s and etc. The idea is to show, in general, all the cool things that make this mod so awesome. The more realistic gameplay.. and I thought it would work best to approach showing these things off in a "hollywood" fashion since most people referance movies as some sort of "basis" to reality... obviously since they can't go observe a live fire military operation they only can base their imagination on what little material they're given to grow on.Downtown_two wrote:Exactly, but that was an EA/DICE concoction, assuming you are referencing the lies that was the first BF2 trailer. The current background PR video tells no lies or implies nothing that isn't there.
So with that in mind, I will try not to deviate too much from "actual gameplay" but it doesn't have to be exact to the map or small detail.. it is modified to show intended gameplay. Which means, when we display some "comms" it is meant to show that... it's the way it SHOULD be.. and with a joint effort.. very well COULD be.
Just as much as this can be a tool to promote the mod, it can be a tool to promote "the way it should be" played. Give new people an idea of what to expect, and show them what it takes to win.
Wasn't me.

Good point. I still haven't gotten any notification as to a password. I know it will be Grayhoundz West. If there is going to be a pass, please P.M. me, as I am willing to be part of the video and cooperate. I am a pretty good pilot and I wouldn't want to miss out on this. BTW, don't forget to upload on YouTube when it's all done. This is going to look great.
