Hi there !

First, I want to apologize about my english, its kind of rusty, and I'll be maybe wrong with "technical" terms.

I had reinstalled PR about a week ago on a new computer, and I've got some connection issue. When I'm at home, and when I want to play, I've got this message "There is a problem with your connection" every 2 minutes on all servers. Im not disconnected, but its annoying. I have a good connection (100 mb/s), and it is wired (a cable connected to my computer, im not sure its the good word). Im on a new computer, which working on Windows 8.1. I never had this problem with my former computer on the same connection.

But when Im at work ( ), where there is a wifi connection, i have no problem and no lags.

Do I need to open ports, or something ? Windows 8.1 is pissing me off, the problem may come from here, I must maybe activate or deactivate something.

This really belongs in the support section, not bugs.

If you are on a firewall router (NAT Router with), try disabling Windows 8.1 Firewall. Worth a try.

Battlefield 2 uses multiple ports, so the simple solution is to disable the built-in firewall if you are behind a wireless or wired NAT Router like Netgear, etc, or use a third-party firewall like comodo firewall, zonealarm etc that will detect PR and Battlefield 2 so you can allow the requests.

Yeah, im working in a bar, its pretty quiet the early evening, it has a good wifi connection and Im the manager .. so, i do what i want Multitasking at its best : serving pints when fighting, years of training !

I tried to disable the firewall, it didn't work.

I dont know if Im connecting via a router. I live in a students residence, and i ve got a cable plug on my wall. But I ve never had this problem before, when i was playing PR from 0.971 to v1.1.

I'm no Technical Support Member, that one is reserved for the members here but try updating the Ethernet Driver.

If not, try installing Punkbuster Service. It's the service version of punkbuster, meaning it runs silently in the background as a service, and it updates the files of Punkbuster-Supported games, so that way you don't have to use the program to manually add games.

Also, go to PRLauncher, click 'Support' and the System Information Box should show up. Click on 'Copy to Clipboard', go to this thread and paste it. You can edit out info that you don't want to share like the username of the computer for privacy reasons since it's text.

If those don't work, try running in windowed mode and screencap (Printscreen) the error, and post here.
