I do my best to get some teamwork going on, and everyone goes fully retard... You guys get online, everyone gets teamwork mode on. Not to hate on you folks but it's getting ridiculous. As soon as known PR players get involved most people suddenly get their game face on...

Now I want to cry in a corner because I missed this...

Well. DB and I always play together by SLing other Squads. SQ2 was cool enough to work with us and with it being 16layer we had lots of helos.

That round and the ones before that were so awesome. Our team was running a tight ship. I hadnt played project reality in month and last night i decided to play again. Man i couldn't have picked a greater time to join HOG :)

But i think Pronk is right. Teamwork like this you dont see that often anymore. Especially after the TG server went down. I think if DB and Cougar hadn't been on it would have been a average round.

But in reality, all it really takes is a few squadleaders willing to communicate and plan.

This is still the best airborne op I've ever been part of, back in the Project Reality Tournament. It used pretty much the same principle, a mass formation of airborne troops with CAS support. Whenever you have to make an amphibious assault from a carrier, you can take pretty much ANY position back this way.

Dat west beach assault.

Nanjing jeeps, wooden supply crates a green smoke

Our strategy was simple. We'd been getting flattened by CATA recently because on most maps in PR, OPFOR hold the defensive advantage.
So instead of pissing tickets away by running into their guns again on such a tiny map like Barracuda, we (NATO) decided we'd just ignore the flags and strike hard and fast, strongpoint a good position, and use air support to cream the enemy attackers.

As you can see from the vid, we deployed the entire team en mass onto the beach west of airfield. Air support lead the way, both Hueys unloading 10/14 of their rockets on the insertion, completely flattening the LZ and the Western Rock bunkers (each held back 4 to react to enemy firing positions and incoming trucks). This insertion HAD to succeed as everything was riding on it and capping the airfield would stop the bleed, so as well as this killer barrage, we had every TRANS and CAS Huey dump 3/4 of its flares as we came into the target area, completely filling the sky with countermeasures and making AA useless. The rest were dumped on the way out. Two squads were to immediately establish FBs at the northern and southern tips of the western beach. The northern troops occupied the bunkers and blocked troops coming from the east, while the rest stormed the tower for AT overwatch.

CATA were definitely the better team that tournament, where you can see how the tickets were fairly close despite this uber strategy. Hats off to CasualtyUR and Colfax for commanding such a great tournament!
