Khamisiyah With the "Iraqi Insurgents"

Post by SIDEKILL3R »

I think Khamisiyah is becoming one of my fav maps for Insurgency now. IRAQI INSURGENTS VS USMC on a 4 km map is awesome it like Fallujah and Kashan Desert combined. If the cache is in the city the fight to get it and hold it can be awesome it really feels like a big city and if the insurgent team is good they can put up a good fight. If the cache is in the bunker area its even more of a head ache for both teams but fun all around. I know most people don't like this layer but i think is much better than MEC VS US ARMY. It is very enjoyable and each time we play it feel like a new map to me. Only Problem is CIA server it the only one that runs it  Khamisiyah INS INF layer must not run through every admin's mind when running a vote but hopefully in the future other servers running the INF layer of insurgency for Khamisiyah

Definently do like it. After playing it about 3-4 times. It's pretty fun.

But you must have a good Iraqi INs team....
or a Shitty USMC team.

And HOG does run it. Just not often. As they don't really put an STD, ALT, INF layout vote in to play a lot.

But, the only cache(s) that Ihave issues about are the ones in the bunker area, Chem weapons facility, and the infamous Oil Refinery area...
Since it's constantly a rape-fest out there vs. the INS.

Kills when ever the INS layout w/ Iraqi INS is played is like...
300 kills - 450 kills.

Kills when ever the INS layout w/ MEC is played is like...
150-250 kills. Definently more balanced asset wise.

But honestly, Cache defense wise...
In the CQB, the insurgents are better for some reason. (Since the INS weapons are kick-***). BUt of course, longer range and not CQB wise.... the MEC is the king.

So it's tough.

Wouldn't mind seeing MEC vs Iraqi INS

Back in 0.9 days when I saw the map Burning sands I thought to myself this map will be awesome for INS layer. Then I got just what I hoped for but never had chance to play maybe exept for once since its release.

The khamisiyah INS layer was for me dream came true of PR maps beyond that of Burning sands.

I even like this map in AAS which is what I don't like. It is exactly because this map feels new each time I play it as you said too.

I think it is due to how asymmetrical the map shape is Not to mention great terrain shapes, And how little this map is played. Which sadly will wear off if played more often.

So I think the reason why this map is fun is due to this 'New feel' factor. Because map is asymmetrical, has great terrain, and have not been played, players maneuver like they have never been here before. Thus making everything realistic. I was looking for something realistic. Thats how I found PR, because it was named Project Reality.
The over played Muttrah/Fallujah style maneuver is far far from this, which turns everything into nothing but 'arcade game' with more elaborate graphics.

So it saddens me that I have never been able to play this layer since its release in January exept for once few days ago for about 15 minutes till the round end.

The reason why this map isn't played often must not be only due to preference but how the layer is named. I believe most PR users are unaware of the fact INF layer has different faction.

This great layer must be made known and be played more.
