Scopes.

Post by Aus Sniper01 »

Hey guys, it has come to my attention that the M249 Saws should be equipped with a scope as in this scope which is used by so many Coalition forces and on so many other machine guns like the M240 etc.

for the main reason that today's incident was ****...I was using a M249 SAW in EJOD Desert map when we yanks were fighting back at the Iraqis at the checkpoint its the open ground area. Anyway I was returning fire from where the incoming rounds from the Iraqis were and I couldn't see my damn target without putting my head up and getting it blown off.
So yeah was wondering how come you havnt put on the scopes?

Well, i wouldn't mind having them, but I personally preffer ironsights (depending on the weapon of course)
And SAW ironsights are great, I just think it's shots just scatter all around too much

yeah same here, the ironsights work just as well, and seem to be more practical for a heavy MG.

Should have a scope? It is issued and can be attached, but the weapon doesn't come with it glued on. That's the ELCAN M145, in service with the US as the MGO (Machine Gun Optic). We haven't put on the scopes because we are using the Battlefield 2 stock models which we cannot edit. And even if we do put it in, I predict we will be treated to "why doesn't the (insert faction) equivalent have a scope, too? Waaaaah!" And if we find slightly plausible optical sights for the similar weapons, then I predict we will be treated to "The light machineguns are overpowered! Waaaah!"

Still want it?

I usually use LMG's without ironsighting anyway, the tracers do the job, it even feels like there's less recoil/more accuracy when using it without ironsights. All you really need to do is reduce the recoil/deviation. Which you can now do, becuase the kit is limited. So nobody will really complain about it, becuase only like 2-3 out of the enemy have one.

In the past i have complained about the MGs and their recoils. I take it all back. Its all 99.9% groovy as it is. However, the MINI-ME(The Brits are carrying the MINI-ME But it looks like a SAW because the skin aint done yet....i think) needs its skin, Thats all.

This aint urgent because no one seems to appreiciate the Brits. The last time i played Op Gst Train(Most played GB map) was some 48years ago.

Leave em how they are for now.

Wow just wiki'd the minimi and scope, that thing looks like it could do some damage.

Please don't include this in the game it would make things way too unbalanced.

Unless you give the MEC/PLA the Krankies with depleted uranium rounds

Give them "the Crankies?" That sounds vulgar; do I want to know?

Robbo, forgive me if I don't take your word for it. I have never seen a photo nor heard of the SUSAT being mounted on the L110 Minimi, only the Common Weapon Sight passive night vision optic. You also have yet to show any evidence that RAF aviators are issued with the MP7.

I apologize for being rude. I would like to see the SAW and QBB-95 get authentic low-power optics, too. Perfectly symmetrical vehicles and equipment is beyond boring and downright irritating to me, but this is still a game and we want people to enjoy playing in all of the classes and factions; we expect everyone to have favorites for whatever reason, though.

That looks like an Aimpoint- same model the US uses as the M68 Close-Combat Optic (on M4A1 in the game), I think; not a telescopic sight, but a reflex sight.

I can't make out the patch- who are these guys supposed to be?

Well, that is what I ment, the MEC rifleman needs some sort of optical sight for his G3.
