Great Mod, too many ********.
To the developers I'd like to say thank you for this great mod. I have been playing Arma 2/3 with friends for the longest time and when one of them brought this up I had to take a look at it. I re downloaded BF2 and when I finished installing PR and started playing I almost couldn't put it down.
As I said, I almost couldn't it down, the reason? 2/3 of the players/squadmates are either complete dicks or just don't communicate at all.
Out of the 20 or so rounds I've played this past week only 3 I've found a good squad that was willing to use a fair amount of teamwork.
A large amount of the player base I've also found to be clan members that group up into a squad and kick anyone who joins the squad regardless if the player is willing to use teamwork.
To the few players I've found to be fun to play with such as Sidekiller, Whitefox, Molchane, and a few of the CIA guys I've met. Thank you for the experience. To the rest, all the dicks and condescending ********, a hearty f**k you.
In retrospect I should of called this Great mod, too many ********, at least something not as harsh as terrible community. The community is not all bad... and that's what the original title had failed to give off.

I'm sure there were more good players I played with but my memory is not so good.

Bro learn to squad lead the only advice I can give you. Instead of being a squad member in a **** squad you could lead seven men into battle and probably get another eight men ( different squads) to follow up behind you. If the team is lacking do something about it need more people like this on pr I must agree.

Re: Great Mod, terrible community.
One of the few times I tried to lead a squad and had people join, csxgamers (and 2 others) joined my squad and when I set a move point he went the opposite way pretty much and took my other 2 squad members with him in a Humvee. When I tried to catch up to them and asked if they wanted me to put up a rally point before we assaulted a compound he in turn started to be a condescending prick. Why join a squad if you don't listen?!?USMC_Toney wrote:Bro learn to squad lead the only advice I can give you. Re: Great Mod, terrible community.
What did you do when joining the squad?
What could have you done better when initiating first contact with the squad leader?
What time were you playing on?
This can all influence how the community is? Also if they have a strict rule set in their squad is often due to a reason and if you don't follow these rules the SLs often go harsh on you.
So explain what happened exactly, to me it looked liked you joined free kit squads and not the right squads.

A recommendation to all squad leads, make sure you do a roll call, if someone is non responsive on the mic, and they won't actively type, boot 'em. And to the guy that made this thread, a hearty fuck you back. If you aren't part of the solution, you're a part of the problem.
Off we fuck.

I often try to join squads that are named like INF, or named after objectives on the map, at least not default named ones.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:What did you do when joining the squad?

On one of my recent experiences, I was on the HOG server I joined a squad and asked where should I spawn, and what kit is needed. The squad leader then said "Is ThirdEye just spamming?" he then kicked me from squad.

Unfortunately there isn't an icon indicating your willingness to follow orders so ye :/ThirdEye wrote:A large amount of the player base I've also found to be clan members that group up into a squad and kick anyone who joins the squad regardless if the player is willing to use teamwork.
While I do understand the frustration on your end, there is also a lot of frustration on our end with the plethora of random players all around and a generally poor experience with them. It's easier to play with 5 or 6 guys you know inside out than, say, 2 new players.
PS: I do know where it's coming from, but don't you think you're generalizing a little bit with your title?
VTRaptor: but i only stopped for less than 10 secs and that fucking awesome dude put 2 of them
]CIA[ SwampFox: well my definition of glitching is using an enemy kit to kill the enemy
Just_Dave: i have a list about PR players, and they r categorized by their skill
Para: You sir are an arse and not what the game or our community needs.
AlonTavor: Is that a German trying to make me concentrate?
Heavy Death: join PRTA instead - Teamwork is a must there.

Re: Great Mod, terrible community.
There are, sadly, always bad players, who do not want to communicate or even follow orders.
Many players of PR think ARMA is "too hard/real" to be fun and thats the reason they play PR.
Compared to ARMA, PR is pretty forgiving.
Small maps, short runtimes, simple medicsystem and so on.
So compared to ARMA its almost arcadish, BUT if people work together its a shitload of fun.
Personaly I dislike clans, because of their WE/THEY attitude they have, sometimes.
Yeah what I wanted to say was: You cant expect good teamwork from a puplic server. But if you get it, its fun. And I have fun most of the time I play.

Yeah I had a great time when I was in Whitefox's squad with Sidekiller and Molchane (I can't remember the rest, sorry....) on Saaremaa. We did pretty well on the map too (other then losing to RUS), got top squad and some kills too.MADsqirrel wrote:There are, sadly, always bad players, who do not want to communicate or even follow orders.

Meh.. Wrong time wrong place I suppose, al though, I noticed a decline in PR regarding teamplay.
A lot of squadleaders are just "free kits" or just morons who send their men into a stupid death.
Try playing at weekends, that's the time when all the people are there to "relax" after school/college/work/whatever.. You'll have a bigger chance to find a good play

Re: Great Mod, terrible community.
Clans should take it upon themselfs to lead pubbie squads more often. So many elitist that doesnt give back what they have been given for free for so many years.
I always lead public squads, and it is alot of fun. Just be strict on orders, kick people and be the dude who talks and asks questions all the time.
If you ask someone to do something, keep asking the question until they say yes. It works most of the time, and if they dont reply, simply kick them from the squad.

Join a clan. Its a bit sad but you tend to find a lot more teamwork there, and its 100x more enjoyable.

Yeah I see what you're trying to say here. I'd like to play with my clan mates but apparently SEALZ isn't into playing "old" games.[R-CON]Rabbit wrote:Join a clan. Its a bit sad but you tend to find a lot more teamwork there, and its 100x more enjoyable.

I also feel that the community is not so serious about the game, nowadays random sounds, stupid and not funny jokes are so common. I feel like i am playing with 12 year olds, and not grown mature men. What is sadder is you actually can hear the guy, who probably is the same age as you acting like a complete r**ard . That being sad there are still pretty descent players out there, and every other round i manage to find a good squad.
Forgive my bad English...

Yeah, it seems at the end of pretty much every round there's some idiot screaming ALLAH AHKBAR...PlaynCool wrote:I also feel that the community is not so serious about the game, nowadays random sounds, stupid and not funny jokes are so common.
