Changing main menu and\or loading music?

I remember in the end of .98, people started modifying their main menu music to the one in 1.0 Open Beta. Is it possible to do this in reverse, or will there be issues? In addition, can you modify the DESC files of maps to have different loading music (say Dovre with 0.973 silent loading music)?

I think file verification will stop you.

Either of those will cause a failure to verify and you'll be unable to play online on official servers.
