Bug that occurs after alt+tabing the game

sometimes you need to alt+tab the game for various reasons. When i alt+tab project reality and get back to the game, i lose all user interfaces. For example, i cant open map, cant open spawn menu thus making me unable to respawn, game log not appearing. So the only way to fix it would be to alt+f4 the game and reopen it. Its pretty annoying and this bug has been there since i first playing pr which was 0.98. Ive reported this issue several months ago but the bug hasnt been addressed. I think this bug only occurs on windows 8 because my friends who use windows 7 dont have such problem.

Turn off Windows 7 compatibility mode, tons of people had (and fixed) this problem (SIDEKILLER, gdpr_user1, me, etc) by turning it off.

I don't use compatibility and still have this problem sometimes. One way I know to 'easy' fix this is to when having the bug, do ctrl+alt+delete and open the taskmanager, then go back into the game and it should be fixed.

Pretty sure this bug is native to BF2 so not much we can do.

Another possible solution

1. Open up Project Reality
2. Go to Options and then Controls
3. You should be on the Common Tab. On the bottom right you will see 'Miscellaneous'
4. Find 3D Map, and click on the box that says 'left alt'. Press the '\' key to change it to that, or anything as long as it's not ctrl, alt, tab or delete
