Unable to configure mumble

Each time I launch PR2 I select the "options" button to config mumble. The problem I'm running into is that each time I click "launch", mumble crashes. The following message appears in a window:

"Project reality mumble has stopped working"

I have uninstalled PR2 twice already but nothing has changed. The game itself runs but I can't communicate to anybody. Needless to say this is now very annoying.
If anybody can please shed some light on what's going on I would appreciate hearing from you.


Also, punkbuster has been updating for 30+ minutes and it's not done yet. Is this normal for anybody else who has installed PR2 for the first time?
