FYI: You Need To Know Before Registering On PR Forum

Post by General Disarray »

Email Received After Requesting Account Deletion:

We do not fully delete accounts. But I will remove all
personal data from it and permanently ban the account,
there'll be no way for anyone but the Administration to trace
this back to your person.

I'm sorry about your experience. I'm not playing much myself
at the moment, and I know that the community isn't as nice as
it used to be when I was more active... It's really dependent
on the server and squad, though. If you ever want to come
back and give this another try, be our guest. You're free to
register a new account in that case.

All the best,
[R-DEV]Spec on behalf of the Dev and Mod team.

==============================================

FYI: Do what you want, but this is my suggestion:

Before you register to the PR forums be aware that your
account will never be deleted
.
If you ask them to delete it they just ban you instead, lol.

Do not use an important email address to register on the PR
forum because it will always be linked to PR no matter what.
I strongly advise anybody thinking about registering on the
forum to create a disposable email that is only used for PR.
In the event that you decide you are through with PR, you
will have to delete that email account in order to cut all
links to PR
.

Lesson learned,
Thanks

That's silly.

Why would you ever be "through" with PR?

What kind of links are we talking about here?
How is this bad?

Got my PR account linked to my main address for years, never had a problem, spam or anything...

Fun fact: It is literally physically impossible for me to completely delete an account with more than a certain number of posts in order to prevent abuse. The only one who can probably do anything about it at that point is the website host, i.e. Slick. Who has more important stuff to do, we'd normally have just rejected the self-deletion request. Like pretty much every forum. I deleted all his personal data, however. The email was only visible to myself in the process of deleting it all, and I chose to send a message to it to explain the process because of course I did. I even went through the threads in question and removed his name from the quotes of people that responded to his posts to preserve his privacy the best I could.

Obviously
when you register here, we (the admins) know your email. How else would the system work?

The email has since been deleted from our database, and I have no intention of personally sending spam to it, either. Obviously.

OP, if you want your accounts completely deleted, contact 2Slick4U. He's the primary website admin and the only one who can do that. Don't expect a swift reply though, he has stuff to do.
