afaik the only "armies" (as opposed to special ops or military police type things) that have adopted the G36 is the German and Spanish armies.

yep - but as already pointed out, versions of it are used all around the globe, mostly in law enforcement though

Well, the British army dont use the G36's

But the Police Force do.

After all Heckler-Koch is a German based company, so it would seem natural the Germans would use the H&K G36 as standard.

nah, mexico has a new assault rifle, which kinda looks like a g36 and i heard some people say it´s based on the g36 but afaik the mexicans deny that - not clear situation.
Well, the British army dont use the G36's
afaik the they have some, because they thought about switching from the enfield to the g36, but as you can see they didnt - perhaps some special forces though use it

Australia Doesn't use them either...
They use an AuStyer for their main assault rifle, and M4 type for their Spec Ops. The SPG (Aus SWAT) dont use them either.

nope, the british bought h&k some ten years or so ago, afaik that was also the time when they´ve got the contract to upgrade the enfields, but again, some 5 or 6 years ago, some german investors bought h&k back

British Police use the G36C, it's started replacing the MP5.

Egg's right, only Spain and Germany use it as a main battle rifle. Plenty of Special Forces use some of the models though, it's a very versatile. There are plenty of rumours flying around that the G36 is going to be the L85A2's successor when the contract runs out in 2010 or something.

What does afaik mean?
Define irony. A bunch of guys playing PR year after year. A game teaching initiative as the prime mover.
However, in regard to EA, these guys never took the initiative.
