I need help with playing PR. I'm pretty bad atm. The biggest problem is i cannot navigate at all. I am always constantly checking or looking at my map, which mostly gets me killed. Also, i always find myself in tedious situations looking for a way around a wall or something similar.
I guess I'm just used to smaller maps on bf games and the easier navigating. Any suggestions to help? or should i just keep playing until i get better? Normally you can just hop into any game and find your way around without too much hassle.

It's perfectly normal for a newer player. Pratice at looking at your compass, and positioning yourself within the map. With time you will get the hang of it. If you don't feel confortable in multiplayer, just go Coop, and pratice yourself.

The best thing you can do right now to learn the maps and to get a hang of PR is to join teamwork infantry squads and stay with them. A good squadleader won't mind having a new player in his squad.

Just learn to use the map in the right situations, and use it with together with the compass. The map is very important, I often find myself popping it up during firefights too see the disposition of friendly forces in the area, and to have a better idea of where the enemies are, and where they might try to flank. The map is key for situational awareness.
For navigation purposes, the maps in PR are not the best in my opinion. They are not super high quality, which gets even worse when you're playing on lower settings, and some of them are not 100% accurate, that usually confuses me when trying to navigate in an urban area. Another thing that bugs me in PR maps, since I'm used to it in ArmA, is that I don't have the option to look at a topographic map, which is very useful. It's not always easy to look at a map in PR and understand if that terrain is an elevation or a depression.
Just try to use the compass as much as possible, get to know the maps (which comes with play time), take notes of landmarks and identify them in the maps, and most importantly, stick with your squad. Your SL should take care of most of the navigation for you.

I do have a mic though and use it.
Only other problem is that it's sometimes it's hard to know where enemies are shooting from.

Re: Opinions?
Look for the /\ Icon on your compass. That is where the squad target is.
Also, make sure you have a decent squad leader. Makes the entire game much, much more fun.
