Do you have to create a new account every time you reinstall the game?
I bought new hardware and installed BF2 and PR. Retvrieve existing account with GameSpy doesn't work, says there was a database error, try again. When I go on create new account, it says the name is already in use.

No you don't, but you will need to remember your password. Because Gamespy is no more we're using the PR accounts since the last patch, but IIRC there is yet to be a password recovery system for it. Perhaps a dev can help you manually.

Ohh the problem was I installed the v1.1.1.0 iso which still relied on GameSpy. Had to set an offline Name to skip the account screen. After the updates I could retrieve my account.
