What is War of the Factions?
The idea behind the War of the Factions ("WF") is simple, and borrows mechanics from the real time strategy genre: the commanding officers choose what faction they want to use, along with which vehicles they want to field for a certain battle. Every asset costs a certain amount of points, and whatever points are left after the CO's have finished shopping is used as tickets during the actual battle. To add further depth, commanders may also adopt different doctrines, such as close air support, armored warfare or mechanized infantry, which alters the cost of certain assets. There are, of course, some map limitations, because it's pretty damn hard to land a F16 on Fools Road, but other than that, the possibilities are almost endless.
The PRTA community has hosted a few battles with this concept, and is now hosting a tournament for it!
Technicians and Contributors
To get this working as smoothly as possible, we need your help! Being a tournament technician or contributor doesn't mean that you can't participate in the battles yourself, but if you're a talented artist, or maybe knows your way around the BF2 editor, don't hesitate to sign up and help us make this happen!
Contributors focus on creating new content related to the tournament, such as graphics, videos and the files required for us to edit the maps. Technicians, on the other hand, works on our servers and more abstract tournament features. Each contributor and technician will be given tasks appropriate to their skill, and every application will be voted on by the tournament admin team.
Administrators
We still need people who are willing to give up some play time in the tournament to help us administrate. The signups for administrators are still open. We want this to be a community effort, so if you feel like giving it a shot, sign up as an administrator:

The commander signups will open the 30th of July, and end the 6th of August. More information will be posted on the tournament website, so make sure to check in every now and then!
