1004:Error connecting to server. (10061)

Every time i want to enter the game (with prspy or just launcher) this is the error i get:
"1004:Error connecting to server. (10061)" please help!

Make sure your antivirus and firewall are allowing these through:
PRLauncher.exe
PRUpdater.exe
PRBF2.exe

IMHO your firewall or antivirus is blocking PRLauncher.exe. The update 1.2.1 that was recently released is not a signed .exe , so AVG and other antivirus programs are blocking it.

To test, try creating a new PR account:

PRlauncher->Hover mouse over Play->Manage Profiles->Create Profiles->Create New Account->
Online Account tab
fill in your information
tick the "remember Password tickbox.
Click Create.

Also if you use a HOSTS file manager, Peerblock, or anything similar, make sure it's not blocking PR.


Also, if you installed battlelog.co ReviveBF2, you have to tell me, they broke your HOSTS file. We can fix it manually.

I am having the same issue. I have norton antivirus and it controls windows firewall. I allowed all PR through the firewall and still getting the 1004 error.

Hey guys,

me and my clanmate had the same problem and he found the solution here on the forums in one of the threads called the same. It seems something is wrong with the launcher and Windows sockets.

THE SOLUTION:

1. Run cmd.exe (aka Command Line)
2. Write sfc /scannow
3. Wait
4. If it finds some error, it will fix itself. Then just restart PC.
(for me: it didn't find anything, I just tried to run the game and it worked (without restarting PC))
5. Play PR!

But unfortunately we were playing on NEW and after Skirmish of Burning Sands the game crashed for me either him. But the socket thingy solution above works again. Seems like PR Launcher thinks that something is wrong with the sockets, but it is not. :/
