Not able to launch game

Post by A.English »

Hi folks, recently due to alot of crashing and too much **** on my pc I reformatted my drive and started again. When I got to reinstalling BF2 I realised my Disc had broken, so using my original CD key and an ISO file I reinstalled BF2, the patches 1.4/1.5, had a quick 5min blast from the past, then PR/FH2. Had some issues with Profiles while launching. Which somehow I fixed accidentally,I played 2 games fine but then.... After returning from work and launching the game I found I couldnt. nor FH2 or even BF2 itself. FH2 Launcher comes up and works fine just like the PR one, I can log in to profile and tweak the settings etc, but as soon as I launch and it verifies files the game opens, then instally closes PR and does the cleaning up files thing, not ever getting past the launcher.. Instantly this is, I've tried reinstalling it all from scratch many times and no luck. I'm guessing its something to do the the exe. files but I've lost hope and I want to destroy things. Please help

Did you install the battlelog.co ReviveBF2 mod?
Are you running ANY type of overlay, Overwolf, Raptr, TS3 overlay, etc?
Have you tried deleting your shader cache?
Have you tried running in windowed mode?

In PRLauncher->Options->Bottom Left Reset All Profiles Button.

In Windows Explorer, Make sure the Documents\ProjectReality directory and subdirectories are not set to read only .

In your antivirus and firewall, make sure BF2\PRBF2.exe and BF2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe are given exceptions.

I think your antivirus\firewall was in "installation mode", so when you first installed it allowed the new PRBF2.exe through , after some time it reverted to "normal", and blocked the unsigned PRBF2.exe file.

IN PRLauncher=>Support->Copy to Clipboard->Paste everything inthis thread so we can see your system specs, in case it's something else.
