PRLauncher stopped working

Hi guys, ive got na issue with my prlauncher. Every time i try to use the prlauncher it just comes with this error "stopped working".
Ive reinstalled the game but the issue is still there. i was playing nicely in my old pc, but now with my new clevo p150 the game just wont start.
if i use the pr.exe the game starts ok but says that i have to use the launcher in order to play.

The new clevo p150 is a very nice notebook, enjoy.
It has NVidia Optimus, so make sure
1. it's plugged in
2. you're running the High Performance Power mode in Windows power settings
3. in NVidia Control Panel, add PRBF2.exe and PRLauncher.exe to the list of programs that use High Performance mode.

Try updating your .NET Framework to 4.5.2 , the PRLauncher program requires .NET framework 4.0 or newer.

so quick questions:
1. does regular BF2 single player work?
2. Are you using a USB headset/headphones/microphone?
3. Are your NVidia drivers up to date?

Bf2 is working fine, drivers are up to date, and yes i use the creative fatality headphones. (usb)
I also intalled the netframework and its still the same issue.
i just cant find out whats wrong with the launcher...
i reeintalled the game 3 times now

To test, completely disable the surround sound in the Creative software, disconnect your headset, then start PR.

It's the lack of EAX support in Creative USB headsets, you'll need to change an audio option in PR if PR starts after you do the above test.

I DIsconected the usb headset but its still not working. The problem must be with the launcher because when i use the pr exe it launches but when in game, it says that i have to use the pr launcher to play. then i use the pr launcher and "stopped working"

hi, i just uninstalled both bf2 and pr, i also uninstalled net framework, and installed all over again and the prlauncher is still broken

It's a conflict between the Creative fatal1ty audio software running as a background process and the EAX mode that PR is running it's sound.


Open Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001\Audio.con in notepad.

Bottom line should say:

Code: Select all

AudioSettings.setEnableEAX 1

change the 1 to a 0

Code: Select all

AudioSettings.setEnableEAX 0

Save the file.

Run PR to test it.

I'm trying to think this through, still not sure what's the source of the problem..

Can you please go to your Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRlauncher.txt file, open it in notepad, and copy paste it all in this thread.

I mentioned this possible solution above, here is a step by step way to do it:

LITOralis.nMd;2028456']go to the Nvidia control panel and select the PRLAUNCHER.EXE, then the PRBF2.EXE, and choose each to run the NVidia GPU instead of the integrated GPU. Hope this helps.

1) Manage 3D settings
2) Program Settings
3) Add Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe
ex. C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe
4) Select the preferred graphics processor for this program. Choose your discrete GPU.

5) Add Battlefield 2\PRBF2.exe
ex. C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\PRBF2.exe
6) Select the preferred graphics processor for this program. Choose your discrete GPU.

What antivirus do you have? What firewall?

It's possible those are blocking the PRBF2.exe or PRLauncher.exe file as they are not whitelisted by default.

AVG, AVAST, COMODO firewall, Norton 360, and a few others are the usual culprits. But even Microsoft antivurs might be blocking the PRLauncher.exe process.

Im using nod 32 both prlauncher and pr exe are in the exlusions so theres no firewall and antivirus blocking them. I already did that in the nvidia control panel. Im sending the prlauncher txt in the next post:

no, im using eset nod32 antivirus 7 and windows firewall. i dont think those would be the problem because i used to play ok in my toshiba with those. the only diference is the laptop. now im using the clevo...

hey there, so i just finished installing the game on the toshiba and the launcher is working. im starting to think that maybe the problem is that my disk C: on the clevo its an ssd and in the toshiba its an hdd... So here are my specs:

Clevo p157 sm

Nvidia GTX870m 6gb
memory: ram 16gb 1886mhz
processor: i7 4710mq
Main disk: ssd crucial mx100 512 gb
2? disk: hdd 7200rpm 512gb

Hi there, i managed to fix the issue. Since my drive c: is an ssd all i had to do is install the game in the defaut folder. Some how the prlauncher was in conflict with the ssd. So ive searched the web to find a solution to my crucial mx100 512gb sdd and they told me to try and install both the game and the mod in the default folder, and voila its fixed.
