Re: Launch Error 1324
Does vanilla BF2 singleplayer work?
Run PR in windowed mode:
PRLauncher->Options->Video tab->UNTICK the Fullscreen tickbox->Change the resolution to something lower, like 800x600->Click APPLY.
Run PR to test.
I think you might need to go one step further, and manually edit the VIdeo.con file to add the 58Hz resolution.
Open these in notepad:
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\Default\Video.con
Documents\ProjectReality\Profiles\0001\Video.con
Edit this line to this:
VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@58Hz
Save the files.
Run PR to test.

Re: Launch Error 1324
We'l start with the basics here, let's get vanilla BF2 working:
edit your BF2 shortcut:
That is the important thing to do here.
Our only problem here is the 58Hz refresh rate of your monitor.
edit your BF2 shortcut:
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720Our only problem here is the 58Hz refresh rate of your monitor.
Video.con
VideoSettings.setResolution 800x600@58Hz
This setting controls your current resolution in Battlefield 2. The format is Width x Height@Refresh Rate. If you cannot start up BF2 and change the resolution from within the game, try altering it here to help you startup the game. In particular when you want to launch BF2 for the first time and the game just crashes back to desktop (See Troubleshooting Tips section), you can change the resolution from its default of 800x600@60Hz to one your monitor supports. Note however that certain resolutions are unsupported and entering them here will not work - see the Command Line section further below.

" Run PR in windowed mode:

I want the following:
1) I want to play in windowed mode or borderless windowed mode
2) I want the resolution to be 1024x768 snapped to full screen on my monitor.
3) I want all the buttons to line up properly.
Is there anyway to do that????????????

Re: Launch Error 1324
when I edit my desktop icon to force game into windowed mode, it won't open (crashes).
When I set standard windowed mode, the game screen is like looking at a cell phone screen.
Increasing resolution in settings to 1920x1080 makes TEXT (player's names) too small to read in-game. As an admin, you kinda really need to see the player's names.
when I "snap to fullscreen windowed mode" the buttons dont' line up and it's nearly impossible to find the locations of the buttons elsewhere on the screen, easily.

Edit: I corrected the link for youtube

Re: Launch Error 1324
go here, download a copy of renddx9.dll
Then paste it into your BF2 directory, overwriting your existing corrupt file.

Re: Launch Error 1324
WHPRaveman, go to My Documents
rename the Battlefield 2 directory to Battlefield 2 Backup.
try to start BF2 again using your shortcut.
Alternatively, try to start BF2 from inside the Steam client.
