Game crashes.

Post by loerk »

My game keeps crashing for no apparent reason, can't really make sense of it. I haven't really delved into any crashlogs but i'll include it in my post along with specs and settings.
Thanks in advance for any help provided.

Parameter name: startIndex
Warning: Error reading PR game memory[/b]
That >startIndex line just keeps on repeating in the log, seems to be the only error I get. I shouldn't have any problems with memory and the game runs like a gem. Should I just lower some settings or something?

This is actually a PRLauncher/PRmumble issue.

Try two things:
1. IN PRLauncher, disable the four Audio cues by unticking the boxes and Clicking APPLY on bottom right:

Note: You need to do this for each online profile you have. If you have just one online profile it's not an issue.

2. IN PRMumble, lower the audio quality in PRMumble-Configure->Settings->tick advanced tab->Audio INPUT ->Click apply.

In short, it's an audio buffering issue.

You can reenable "Officer radio receivce cue" when you find a PRMumble quality level that works for you.

It's a strange problem we don't have time to retackle.

It seems to be working, thanks. Now there's just another issue, ever since I installed PR for windows 8 I haven't been able to see the transmission icons ingame. So I have no idea where different transmissions are coming from be it local or squad. What can I do to fix this?

remove the windows 7 compatibility mode to the PRBF2.exe file located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection

remove the windows 7 compatibility mode to the PRMumble.exe file located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Battlefield 2 Complete Collection\mods\pr\bin\prmumble

I think that fixes it, maybe someone using win8 will chime in.

The fix is easy, I just forgot which combo of compatibility modes you need to use/not use.

Okay, I didn't have the compatibility box checked on either from the start so I tried checking them to see if anything would happen(it didn't). I've unchecked them again to see if it will help.

I have the same problem. Running on Windows 8.1. I unticked the noises, lowered audio quality on the start menu to low, and I am running Launcher,Updater, and Mumble on Win 7 compatibility. When you mean Audio Output, do you actually mean Audio Input. I see Audio quality under that, but not for output. I lowered in from 40 to 25.. think that will help?

The same problem being that my game with crash randomly without any notice. just goes blank back to desktop

Do you mean audio input, then compression quality? Seems to be the only thing similar I can find. Also, is there a certain level I should try to set that to?

Yes, I mean Audio input, sorry for the confusion.
The level is unique for everyone's situation.
Occam's razor and some testing in game is the only way to find the optimal choice for you.

Gotcha, I'm experimenting with it now. This is driving me crazy, just out of nowhere I just started crashing every single time a new map starts loading. Thanks for the help.
