In fact this is a pretty decent topic for once actually.

Biggest change that made PR what it is now was introducing deviation imo. Cannot even remember when that was. 0.8 wasn't it?

Thermals, it completely changed gameplay as it provided a new advantage for some vehicles. Before smoke meant the enemy couldn't see you, but you couldn't see them, now it means they can not see you but you can see them. It also made locating things like players much easier, heavily changing insurgency.

UAV changed game play as well....i remember as commander it was basically being "bob the builder"...but every once in a while i would go with squads and command on the front and organize armor with inf. pre mumble era.....it was fun when you had squads that would listen and work for a commander. though i would have to articulate my plan and if they thought it to be somewhat decent then they would oblige me and follow my orders....its hard to prove yourself worthy of a position that can be given freely to any turd head.

3d scopes.
Before that I never used nor wanted to use scopes because of the big black thing covering most of your screen.

mumble integration as well.

it did, but it wasnt mandatory nor included into the game so only a few players used it making it kind of useless.

I loved being able to zoom in when manning a TOW. Early mumble was cool as well because you could also here the enemy, before they changed it. I also remember when there were no FPS drops :) ahhhh, the good old days. Looking forward to the new INS game-play with upcoming patch.

From my time playing (around 4 years or so?) I definitely have to say Mumble and Thermals. I can't even remember life before thermals, just mass amounts of TKing everywhere and it was so hard to spot enemies lol.
