(Help) PR doesn't recognize BF2 is installed

Post by AwkwardDuck »

I installed a disk version of BF2, launched it, everything working fine. I open up the setup.exe, choose the right install path (C :P rogram Files (86x) EA GAMES Battlefield 2), and it says, "Cannot confirm Battlefield 2 v1.5 has been installed"
Yet I have played it multiple times.
Please help?

A disk version of BF2 is some version before version 1.4 , so you have to update your BF2 using 1.41 full patch and 1.5 patch.

Only then can you install PR.

Should the Patch installers not have asked me where I wanted to install it, it sensed where I had BF2 installed?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've been through hours and hours of bad torrents to find a working copy of this game. The only torrent that worked flawlessly was in Spanish

I'm not understanding exactly what you are asking.

install BF2 from disk.
Start vanilla BF2 once to create some file systems. close BF2.
download and install patch 1.41 full.
download and install patch 1.5 .
Start vanilla BF2 once to create some file systems. Close BF2.
download and install PR.

Which patch are you having trouble with?

Nevermind, just ignore that question. Everything's working fine now, thanks for the quick reply!
