Project Reality:BF2 Launcher has stopped working

Project Reality has worked fine just yesterday for me and I've never had this error before.


I am having this problem where I cannot open the launcher. Here is everything that happens step-by-step:

I click on the Project Reality Launcher and this appears:



After it finishes loading, this appears:




I hit Debug. Then this appears:






I hit "Yes, debug PRLauncher.exe" Then this appears:





I hit "Yes" and then THIS appears :





I am very confused so any help will be appreciated!

I haven't dealt with this problem in a long time.

You have MS Visual Studio 2010 installed. For some reason, Microsoft overwrites the 'consumer' .NET libraries on your PC with the Visual Studio 2010 files, . Just for Visual Studio 2010.

Do you still use Visual Studio 2010 Pro? It's now free to download for students with verified .edu emails here:

If you use it still, you got to update it, to at least use the .NET 4.0 final libraries.

If you don't use it at all, uninstall Visual Studio 2010 Pro, reboot then download and install the newest .NET framework 4.5.2.X here: (pick one)

reboot. then start PR to test.

I followed those exact instructions and these are my results.


I click on the PR Launcher and I get this same error:
