So I have been getting into Project reality again over the past 6 months and loving it, and it has been treating me well. Last version I played before 1.21 was 0.987 (or 0.985) whatever long time ago. But as for the issue I want to address is one I have seen scattered around a few places but with little solutions or working solutions, at least for myself, Is that of sudden high ping and extreme latency problems. What is most annoying is that it has only started happening recently probably 3 days before this post
I would join a server, usually HOG or PRTA since they are the best for Australian players and join successfully and deploy. after a minute maybe two if I'm lucky I would begin to experience the most frustrating ping issues where I would rubber band, others would appear to rubber band, stop moving, end up in a firefight a second later and die where it will still have problems. Essentially my ping would be stable at 170, go to 250 then give me "there is a problem with your connection" and end up at 900 or 1000 ping then slowly drop back to 250. However i would never disconnect from the server, in fact I have never been kicked for high ping. The most annoying part is that I have tried most things to fix it
- Close all internet related programs that would adversely affect ping
- Cease all downloads on other computers on the network
- Restart Computer
- Reset Modem
- Set Static IP
- Speed Tests
- Contact ISP
- Reset Regedit Network Throttling data
- Disable WLAN Services (that just stops connection no point)
If anyone has any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated
