PR setup wont find bf2 steam(Win8.1)

i get to the part where you have to link bf2 steam with PR but it wont find it i have run bf2 steam many times even played some of the campaign i have also tried to manually direct it but still doesnt work someone please help me.

Did you install two versions of BF2? for example, a pirated EA origin copy, and then a legit Steam copy?

Almost 100% of the time it's due to having left over registry entries from a prior installation that is confusing our PR installer.
