Unable to install

I recently installed a SSD and put windows 8.1 on it. I couldn't launch PR from the hard drive anymore so I decided to reinstall it, but when I tried to get the installer to install it kept saying it couldn't figure out which version of Battlefield 2 I was having on my hard drive.

Then I installed battlefield 2 on my SSD and it gave the same error. Any help please?

Which version of BF2 do you actually have? run regualr BF2 and look in the corner of the main menu for your version number. write it down and tell us here.

Did you update it BF2 with the v1.5 Patch file correctly?

There are a few quick fixes, but I have to know exactly which version of BF2 is actually installed.

I tried to patch it to 1.5 but the patcher said it was a more recent version.
Checked the game, it was version 1.1.2251 trying to patch now

Get the exact error message. Either write it down and post it here, or take a sceenshot of the message and post the image here.

I patched the game, and now the install actually works. Still strange that the 1.5 patch said my PC was running a later version...

I had the same issue, and I discovered somehow that I accidentally uninstalled BF2 on the E:/ drive so no wonder it didn't work
