Recording Idea
So I've been playing around with this idea I've had lately... haven't really figured out how to pull it off. I think it would be a really cool way to show off Project Reality's player driven gameplay and combat flow.
I wanna do a recording of an entire match of just the map. I want to do it for both sides, and then do a timelapse showing all the infantry movement and combat movement of the whole round from a birds eye/strategic map point of view. I think it could be really cool.
Essentially... we'd need one person on both sides recording just the map, then afterwards we can superimpose the two maps over each other so you can see both teams moving around on one map. Additionally it'd probably be cool to get some people actually playing the game to record their perspectives, so when a "hot spot" shows up on the map, we can zoom in and show the combat.
Idk, could be cool. We could maybe even make it interactive. Like "click the squad leader to see their perspective in real time" like battlerecorder but more user friendly.
Let me know what you all think, and if anyone would be interested in helping to make this happen. Or even do it yourself I don't mind, it'd be cool just to see this no matter who does it <3

Re: Recording Idea
had the same idea long ago...the only way i imagine that it would work would be if you got all the originals from all the recorders and then edited it...and that would take some time...but would be really really cool i think.
i guess something like uploading to google drive then you downloading from there or something similar...good luck man...i could try being a recorder since i just got done with school i got some free time. i usually take the squad lead role and my info is below.

Re: Recording Idea
You dont need a person recording the map.
With python you can, every X seconds, do a snapshot of every player, its squad number and position, then you overlap that information on a bigger map.
To click on each squad, I see 2 options, manually do it with youtube overlays or do it through HTML, javascript and the information previously recorded.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

Re: Recording Idea
Ye, we had a tool that could do that years ago and iirc, PRISM coming in v1.3 will be able to do that too

Re: Recording Idea
Could you switch the S and the I? Then it could just be PRISM

Re: Recording Idea
You could do an event where you have recorders reserved space or something.
Would be damn cool with 10 recorders on each team for a whole round.
