Be the biggest cog in the well oiled machine. How to be more effective in PR.
I don't know how many times I have heard it.. "The server is clan stacked!". I look at player list and see 1 clan with 5 people on. That squad usually is the top squad but does having 5 people on one side really make that big of a difference? I mean the servers host 100 players, does that mean that 95% of the server is not doing anything to support their team? Of course not. I think though that those 5 people might have a better understanding of what is needed to win games than the other 95 though. Here are some of the things we do in prWARs to be the biggest cog of a well oiled machine.
Run a good trans squad.
Despite popular belief, a "good" trans squad doesn't mean that you can fly across Muttrah upside down, or land on a 80 degree angle. It means to have a good understanding on where you troops are, and getting them crates. A lot of times you will see trans sit on their pads not doing anything, its my belief that if you have a crate, you should drop it off. Crates aren't just used for building fobs, they are a good resource for getting kits and refilling vital assets like HAT/LAT kits. On a typical night, prWARs will run trans with Sprint squad leading. He gets fobs up fast and has a really good idea of what the team needs in terms of assets. I have seen our team win more form having a good trans squad than from any other factor.
Play with the same people every night.
You don't have to join a clan or join a community, but play with the same people every day. Join their coms or join the server's coms. This game has an amazing community, take part it in. I have been playing with the same guys for years and years. It makes a huge difference.
Ditch the sniper kit.
In the years of playing PR, I have never once came across a situation where I thought "man, I'm glad that guy in my squad had a sniper kit". The kit has a place in the game, not in my squad though. If someone has a hard on for long range shots, a marksman is a better choice for a squad in my opinion.
Mortars win rounds.
Simple as that. If you have a commander who works with you, you can have mortars dropped on any point in the map before that point has a chance to be effective. On Muttrah, we generally have mortars dropping on the heads of people who don't even have their fobs dug up yet. Plain and simple, mortars/UAV are the most overpowered thing in the game.
Realize that you aren't going to win every game.
You will crash your trans, you will get shot in the face, your mortars will get counter mortared, you will die spawning in, you will get TKed, you will have to deal with squads who are worthless, and you will get frustrated. Don't quit. The game was very well designed and there are usually counter measures to every aspect of the game. Opposing team have a dominating CAS squad? Jump in that AA vehicle and patiently take a safe position to take a few down. Tanks rolling over your team? Get a good FOB set up with a tow. It might not always work, but it's better than quitting the round. Remember that you get better playing against players/situations that are better than you. You will never get better if you always win.
Thats it for now. Thanks for reading!

To be more effective in PR, one must know how to use all the infantry weapons first.
Especially dumbfire HAT.
RPG-7...etc. also take some skill to aim, especially when engaging choppers.
One well-placed RPG ambush will ruin the day or at least 15 minutes. (my best one was when 3 rpg kilked 1 logi and 2 humvees).
Mortar is good for people with high ping and/or bad computers(but it needs to load into game fast enough).
I would leave trans to people who have no need for guides.

[R-DEV]Ninja2dan: Not having a spotter is like masturbating with a cheese grater...mildly amusing at first, but generally painful and bloody in the end.
Thornehaw: If all this have been evidently true, Battlefield is a much scarier and dirtier than ever imagined. Not a conspiracy, but a possibility. If it is true, then trusting another is quite worrisome.

The only thing you need is the right mindset, the mindset that allows you to win, have fun and still be a nice person while having good scores. But too often people are negative, not competitive at all and that starts a chain reaction leading to a bad team.
We are staying up!

I always play until the end of a round and try my best to follow orders.

- Make sure your audio is on high. Audio is 50% of the game, all guns, vehicles can be accurately pinpointed (direction + distance) just by audio.
- Don't run away from Squadleader.
- Don't bunch up, "MilSim Stackup" doesn't work.
- Just because something shoots behind you, doesn't mean you should turn around and neglect your sector. There's a reason you have 8 people in the squad- Cover Stairs in Buildings, especially T's.
- Milsim is too slow for PR
- A revive is possible in 80% of all cases if your squad didn't get wiped completely.
- Be on the same floor in a building to avoid confusion
- Don't spam mumble
- After revive, wait 2 minutes before going back into combat, stay low
- If armor shoots at you - Do not peek! Don't look at / engage what you can't kill.

When you get killed don't just start shouting for a medic, let your squad know what killed you and from where. Then wait.

You seems to be new in 1.3.ComradeHX wrote:It's still useful to check how many enemies killed civies and how many enemies gave up.

assetruler69: I've seen things you smurfs wouldn't believe. Apaches on the Kashan. I watched burned down tank hulls after the launch of the single TOW. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
Time to give up and respawn.

For me, one of the most important tips and things to keep in mind while playing is:
FOB's.
Build them, destroy enemy ones. It. Wins. You. Games.
So often I find myself in a squad going on an attacking run "we are going to attack west city center". Kill the enemy FOB first, then see how easy it is to cap west city center. Same goes for before you go and attack or plan your defense. Get one or two good fob's up (NOT directly on the flag) and it will help your defense/attack (and your team...) enormously. For this to happen ofcourse a good TRANS squad is needed. But for my first point, 'blindly' rushing in and attacking a t shaped before looking for the FOB it is not, and this is something that happens in pr A LOT (even with more experienced players).
