64-bit support or virus-infected dload?

Post by TheMerchantOfMenace »

Any informed opinions welcome.

Firstly, I tried installing and got this msg when clicking on the Install button:

Piepieonline suggested that I might have a corrupted extraction, so I decided to delete the folder into which I'd extracted the files, but was denied access to the Dependencies subfolder, so decided to extract to a second install folder and am still getting the same result as above, claiming that the setup is not 64-bit compatible.

That Dependencies folder I could not delete was bugging me, so I decided to go take full ownership of the folder in order to try again to delete it, but I can't even take ownership of the folder, getting this:

WTF is going on here?

If there is a corrupted installer file, could one of the DEVs provide a link so's I can dload just the setup.exe itself? Instead of a 6+ hr. re-dload that might yield the same results in the end? Would love to get online today!

Thanks.

Edit: Saw something about using 16-bit DLLs... surely none of the PR 1.3 .iso file contains 16-bit DLL?

I suggest redownloading from a different source.

I was extracting all the files in the .iso to a folder and running the install from there.

Finally, a few mins. ago, on the main PR dload page, I see the Installation Guide link and click on it to see if there might not be any hints, and I see this about mounting the .iso as a CD drive. Damn, here I was treating the .iso file as a .zip file, more or less... thought "lemme try that"... wham, bang, thank you ma'am... installed like a charm!
