Will Custom Minimaps get you banned?

Hey community, I've been looking at all posts I can find on PR Topographic maps here but I've gotten mixed answers for this particular question.

I need to know for certain whether a custom ingamemap.dds file will trigger a punkbuster ban. Would really appreciate an answer from a dev or someone who understands the way punkbuster works.

if you modify any files in the pr folder you wont be able to play online.
