Trying to run a private co-op LAN server
Not really sure how to how say it properly but anyways I'll get straight to the point, myself and some friends are trying to play together in Co-op(with bots) and we have tried Hamachi and are currently trying Tunngle, whenever I create a server they can join just fine but crash when loading a map(we use Al Basrah to test) and whenever they host I have issues even connecting, is there something we are doing wrong? Any help is appreciated!

I can't remember exactly what I did but I did manage to get it working with hamachi, it wasn't straight forward an my problems were about getting Hamachi to link.

Re: Trying to run a private co-op LAN server
how i got it to work.
the host: make network, let people join.
TURN OFF WINDOWS FIREWALL
start project reality
go to co-op and start a server, (WITH PASSWORD)
the player: copy the hosts Ipv4 adress and paste it in the internet search browser.
voila, how i've been playing PR with friends for the past 3 years : )
btw: we had crashes and all that good shit without using a server password, so when we did start to use a simple 123 password for our ''lan'' server on PR, all crashes were gone

Hold on I just noticed it was LAN I was talking about remote with someone in another country.
More powerful PC (I do that does it make a difference?) creates local server the other searches in deployment(IIRC) for a local server. I will test later when my kid has his friend here. At worst join the server computer with join via IP address (probably 192.168.1.between 2 and 254 on my modem but in reality my devices use only up to 5).
One 'bug' with LAN worth remembering though.

i play with my friend all the way across the world via hamachi the way i described above, however we do never see the server. but that's no big as you've stated you can join with IP which is just as good.PLODDITHANLEY wrote:Hold on I just noticed it was LAN I was talking about remote with someone in another country.

and you can switch maps/ modes with the ingame commands since everyone that joins a server on local/hamachi is a admin
