Trying to get bf2editor to work in Windows 7
I have Windows 7 64. I ran BF2editor as Admin and compatibility mode for XP SP2. BF2editor loads, but I keep getting this init.con error when trying to load a map. The map is coral sea and I have extracted the server and client zip files, create an editor folder and placed GamePlayObjects.con and the AI folder in the editor folder from the 32 SP2. I don't know what else to do to get BF2editor to work. I try to set the permissions not to be read only but my changes never stick. I even tried taking ownership of the whole BF2 folder and I still couldn't change the read only permissions. I have a felling that is the problem. All I want to do is add two F-35's to the aircraft Carrier.

Did you extracted files from server.zip into 'levels/invasion_in_coral_sea', or 'levels/invasion_in_coral_sea/server/' ? The path should be as follows: 'levels/invasion_in_coral_sea/init.con'
Just checking.
Just checking.

That was the problem. Now I have F-35's on the deck of the carrier! First time I used the BF2editor.
Thanks!

Gud.
Dont forget that you can also just manually edit gamemodes/gpm_<gamemode>/<layer>/gameplayobjects.con if you want just replace some vehicles.
Generally, i would recommend from launching bfeditor in any case when it's possible.
As you're being new in bfeditor, for quickly recognizing what's going on i'd recommend using VCS(Git\SVN\whatevar) to see what files are touched in which way to avoid running laggy piece of **** called bfeditor.exe

Version Control System. Allows you to easily track what you did, and revert changes you're made incase broken something.
