Insane lag in some maps

Post by Commander_Motorola »

Hello, first post here even tho I play since 2010.

I've been having insane FPS drops since 1.0 on some city maps (Fallujah, Operation Martin, Muttrah City and also Kokan), these drops happens only when looking on a certain direction.

Here are my PC specs:
Windows 7 64 Bits
AMD FX6100 running at 3,3Ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Saphire Radeon 7850 2GB

I've tried a lot of fixes here, like cleaning shaders cache, using Process Lasso, Razer Gameboosters, but the lag always becomes worse with each game update.
I already did a full clean install when I downloaded 1.3 months/weeks ago.

On taksmanager the CPU usage never goes past 15% and the PR memory peaks at 1,3GB so I find that I have some kind of bottle neck, also reducing graphics doesn't seem to help.

Also ingame, if I look trough a scope the lag is gone, it makes impossible for me to play with ironsights in some areas of the maps.

With all this being said I hope someone can help me.

I deleted a profile in CCC but it still lags, tested on Beirut.

could you define 'insane lag'?

40 fps?

4 fps?

PR only utilizes 1 core, so what you're describing in terms of CPU usage sounds about right

I get between 60-30 FPS but some times when looking on a certain direction on a certain map my FPS drop to 20 and some times to 15, making aiming really hard. It's basicly a FPS stutter.

Talking about the CPU usage, I even tried to change the CPU afinity of all process from 2 to 5 and using a single core for PR. I still got the same results.

30-60 fps for this game sounds normal to me, sometimes i might even dip to the 20s and i've got an i7 4770k with low settings all around

i would drop your settings to the lowest and make sure your AA isn't maxed out, that is really all I can think of because you've tried everything else..

you could try cleaning/defragging your harddrive, disable any background running apps, clean registry, etc.

if you do a search on the forums there are people with the same CPU that report the same problem and were told to use processlasso

other than that i've got nothing else man :\ hopefully someone else can come and pitch in

You'll notice that that certain direction is where the majority of players are at. That's your CPU screaming for help. It's normal unfortunately.

Thanks DC K

DesmoLocke, I've always tought about that since I've tried almost everything, but even turning up the CPU clock a little bit didn't help.

Yep. Just an old game engine stretched to it's limits unfortunately.

Im sure you have tried but if you haven't, try turning AA to 2x not 4x or 8x. And make sure your CCC profile is set to defaults and your drivers are updated

I've got AA disabled, I had a CCC profile with AA on x2 and deleted it as DC K said, it improved the lag a bit but it's still annoying.
