Hey all!
When I join a game Voice chat works fine. I can talk to my squad and talk in local. When the server switches map my VO shuts off. Not only can other players not hear me when I speak, I cant hear them! When I press the talk button, the icon comes up in the corner of my screen, but it does not do so for other players.
I'm running PR in windows 8 compatibility mode
Any suggestions?

Some more information:
Voice chat also stops when I alt-tab the game, the bottom compass row also disappers, along with the weapon selection tab which open when you select another item.
Please help!

Re: Mumble shuts off after map switch
UPDATE : fixed mumble problem by running mumble itself with a windows 8 compatibility pack. UI problems remain, cannot access map, respawn menu, weapon wheel, or compass after alt-tabbing or server switch. Interestingly enough, the squad Voice Chat icon still shows up when I chat, but not local. I assume this is because squad chat is handled separately by mumble, and local by the server? I was not able to test local chat's functionality.
It seems the key is running a windows 8 compatibility pack. I'm running PR and Mumble on packs, is there any way to apply the same fix to the UI? In other words, is there an external package like mumble that handles the ui, which needs a separate fix?
Thanks for the help!

Mumble handles all the voice chat - in fact, local (positional) voice audio is a feature of Mumble that BF2 did not have implemented at all, if I'm not mistaken.djk1518 wrote:UPDATE : fixed mumble problem by running mumble itself with a windows 8 compatibility pack. Is there any particularly important reason why you're running PR on Windows 8 Compatibility mode at all? There's a lot of people playing PR on Windows 10 completely normally without compatibility modes, including me. If not, why not just try running it without extra options?djk1518 wrote: It seems the key is running a windows 8 compatibility pack. This issue sounds similar. Try running windowed like him, see if it makes a difference. It won't help me much, but maybe someone with a bit more insight to how everything works could get an idea.
