What keeps you coming back to PR?
I know PR is old[but not outdated], it's not the sleekest game, nor does it have the shiniest graphics, but for me it does have one thing that no other game has and it keeps me coming back for more; The Gun Mechanics. They are fucking amazing. I just love how real and visceral the guns feel. I first played PR nearly a decade ago and fell in love with the gun play immediately. No other game respects and treats the user as an intelligent being, no other game rewards the user for being adept with their gun, no other game allows the limit of the weapon to be the user's own skill and not some arbitrary restriction. I'm not a fan of hardcore shooters at all(arma, insurgency, etc). But PR is an exception. There is nothing more I love than the feeling of mag dumping into an enemy close range, and then at the very next moment laying down accurate fire at medium to long range with the same weapon.
If you want Spawnable RPGs and SVDs for Insurgent team

The teamwork, communication, strategy, and epic scale. And the fact that players need to take on leadership roles and manage squads of actual people is simply amazing. Its just the most challenging and rewarding thing to lead in PR or to serve under a good, demanding SL.

Humans.
Dickheads, trolls, newbies, cas whores, elitits, devs, milsimers, admins, modders, notable persons, SL's-for-life. All of them are pretty much the reason why PR still alive for me
Rest is solvable, xcept fastropes.

Time to give up and respawn.

Bad FPS games. Project Reality is like anti-depressant of FPS games for me.

It used to be the "realism" and uniqueness of the mod, nowadays I'm so used to it that the gameplay itself is not as rewarding as it used to be years ago.
What keeps me coming back these days are the people that I've played this mod with for more than half a decade now.

It is gameplay and people. You play BF4 for hour max - same shit always, but when you get in PR - every time its different.

This. Run, pew pew, die, do it again with zero enjoyment or definite goal, just for the sake of running and gunning. With PR it is different. The thing has a soul. And we go way back, with the tourneys and stuff, ones that played it know what I mean.Montana0008 wrote:Bad FPS games. Project Reality is like anti-depressant of FPS games for me.

The perfect balance of arcade and milsim. Game length giving the opportunity for strategy (maybe) and general gibber with those around you. The variety of people you interact with on the servers and diverse conversations you can have are brilliant adding to a real social dynamic engagement along with the action.
And eveything rPoXoTauJIo said.

Intra-vehicle teamwork without all of ArmA's baggage.
Players might be hardcoded, but that sure doesn't seem to stop anybody from trying.
The only winning move is not to play. Insurgency, that is.
