Need Help with 1001: error connecting to server.(11003)

Post by Reservior_dog »

Hi Guys,

I went to log in last night in Project reality to join a server. But sadly I keep getting this error message = 1001: error connecting to server.(11003)

I have since carried out the following

*uninstalled the game
*Cleaned my registry
*Shut down PC and restarted
*Reinstalled the Game
*Tried connecting with my firewall off
*Tried connecting with Anti Virus off
*Tried setting up new account but same error code

But nothing.

My details are as follows

User Name = Reservior_Dog

If anyone can help me I would be most grateful.

Kind regards

do you have latest windows updates?
what is your AV? do checks for malware
did you try whitelisting prbf2.exe prlauncher.exe and prmumble.exe?

post your system specs from launcher>support

AV, Firewall, Router settings, ... Something is simply blocking your connection to our services.

open services.msc using run, and find 'background intelligent transfer service'
is that running?

is there anything you recently installed that could be monitoring/blocking your incoming/outgoing settings?

at what point was the game working? what is new since?

some things to try:
'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;1980809']First a disclaimer: This is a C++ issue and I am not knowledgable in this language. Only a few guys on the PR team can actually troubleshoot this error.

Here is my best guess:

Guess 1: Reinstall this: Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center

Guess 2: Uninstall, then clean, then reinstall this:
Try uninstalling and then reinstalling Microsoft .NET Framework 4 and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1

Tutorial:
How to Repair the Microsoft .NET Framework - YouTube

Do not uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 2 , 3, or 3.5 !!

offline installer for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Offline Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 from Official Microsoft Download Center

Hi DC K

Thanks again for the help. TO save time and reduce the hassle. I backed up my drive and formatted C & D drives and reinstalled windows 10 and rebooted my Modem. I then re downloaded PR and installed it. I was then able to recover my account.

However once I have logged in the game starts to load then stops and goes to a small screen which says closing Project - Project reality is cleaning resources then it shuts down. I have tried running the game with the AV (Windows Defender) turned off and the Firewall off and nothing. This is a brand new fresh install and it was the first program I installed after the windows updates. There is absolutely no reason why it should not have ran.

I am at a complete loss.

Kind regards

Installed the prerequisites?

Also, allow your Documents folder to not be Read Only

right click on documents; left click on property; left click on the "Sharing" Tab; left click on Share, open up the file sharing dialoge box, left click on everyone, left click on add and finally left click on the share bottom at the bottom of the page.

Windows-10 changed all my documents to "Read-Only" - Forums - CNET
