Here is a map that will be included in the next release of Project Reality.
It is a relativley small map that pits the UK Forces against Insurgents and is set in a furtile southern reigon of Afghanistan. The main feature of the map is the destructible buildings masterfully created by [R-DEV]matt.b.
There are 2 modes to play. An AAS 2 game which sees the British team on a mission to clear out all the insurgent houses and regain control of the area.
The second is a Pilot xtract mission that requires the British team to locate and resuce the pilot of a downed Merlin Helicopter and bring him back to saftey through hostile territory.
Using the wonderful creations of Matt.b, future Project Reality Maps should see more of a destructible and dynamic environment. Take this map as a 'taste tester' to see how things go, and all the while know things will only get better

They are in sections, so if you fire a rocket at the left corner of a building, that part will explode. Fire at the top of it and part of the roof will collapse.
It is not exactly proper physics, but still very good. They cannot be completley destroyed they still leave rubble piles and broken walls for cover.

lol every map has to have it's fair share of chopper wrecks. I agree, it isn't a map until it has flaming helicopter all over it.

hehe, i agree its rather cliche. However Pilot xtract without the aircraft just wouldnt be right

So yea I guess he could have bailed from a jet but then I wouldnt have got to use [R-DEV]E-Gors lovley wreck model.

Sweet.
The destructable buildings sound awesome. I can't wait until this comes out!
Can engineers "repair" the broken buildings?

heh, no. Uless you want the afghan bricklayer class for insurgents armed with only throwable sand and a trowel...

Good. I was worried the magic wrench might come into play.

By the way if someone inside the bilding when the roof is collapse he will be killed?

Looks absolutely superb and this single map has now probaly brought me to the edge, desire for .5 becoming totaly incapasitating!!!!!!!!
"relativley small map" - destructable buildings some what balances this fact out BUT IF IT IS A RIGHT CORKER, any chance of a upgrade in size later on, or is that not possible????

The damage is being tweaked by coders, and we hope to realistically simulate being hit in the face by flying rocks and hot metal
